My husband and I went to see Rick Springfield tonight with friends, and what a fun night! If there’s one thing I can’t recommend enough, it’s going to see the musicians who provided the soundtrack to your younger years. It doesn’t even have to be someone you were a huge fan of. There’s just something magical about hearing those songs live, singing along, and being transported back a few decades. And can we talk about Rick Springfield?! At 77 years old, he makes a pretty compelling case that age really is just a number.

Okay, interesting social experiment: About 95% of the men replying to my SEC couples post attributed the attractiveness gap to the men being rich. So I’m curious. What would your explanation be if the genders were reversed? *I had to resort to AI because I genuinely couldn’t find any real-life examples of young couples with a comparable attractiveness gap in the opposite direction.

I’ve had several people reply they either don’t understand looks matching or that it isn’t a thing. Mind you, looks matching has nothing to do with how attracted a couple is to each other, how successful their relationship is, or even whether they should be together. But here’s a quick lesson in looks matching….. Take a look at these photos of average SEC couples. If you’re shocked, baffled, or in disbelief when looking at them, congratulations! You understand looks matching perfectly.

Haiti is being overwhelmed by Haitians.
#BREAKING: Haiti says it's “overwhelmed” by illegals deported from the United States.

Since we’re talking about looks, I think most people don’t realize how much can be accomplished with facial aesthetics without ever going under the knife. This was a patient of mine, photographed less than an hour apart. No surgery. Just PDO threads and a small amount of strategically placed filler. One of the things I miss about practicing cosmetic dentistry and facial aesthetics was seeing how relatively small interventions could make such a dramatic difference.

Forget pronouns. I can tell whether you’re male or female just by asking if you think these two are looks-matched or not.

I don’t know if this is a popular or unpopular opinion…… I think those airport self-service kiosks are much faster, easier, and more efficient than checking in with a human ticketing agent.

This woman inspired countless women to question their marriages, their ordinary lives, and whether they were settling for less than they deserved. She romanticized the pursuit of personal fulfillment, even when it meant upending everything. Now, at 57, she’s a recovering addict, survived a deeply destructive lesbian relationship with a friend, and has been celibate for seven years. I think the ordinary, imperfect, perhaps unexciting lives so many women were encouraged to abandon weren’t so terrible after all. There’s a difference between escaping a bad life and discarding a good one because you’ve been convinced something extraordinary is waiting elsewhere. In the relentless pursuit of something better, too many failed to recognize the value of what they already had.

I guess said in a different way… Would Eat, Pray, Love have inspied so many women if they could see Elizabeth Gilbert’s life today?

I haven’t seen a single person genuinely outraged by the logo being Nazi imagery, certainly nothing like the outrage over Elon’s supposed Nazi salute. Everyone is just having fun with the memes, which are hilarious. It reminds me of a boy in my 2nd grade who someone accused of eating his boogers. He didn’t, but he absolutely lost his mind denying it, so naturally the kids started calling him “Booger Boy” and that’s how he was known for the next 4 years. Nobody actually believed he ate boogers. His reaction and everyone piling on WAS the joke.
The Falcons logo fake outrage gimmick is outrageous bro. We do this logo EVERY YEAR because it’s our THROWBACK LOGO

I’ve been on Twitter for 17 years and almost never block people. Ive blocked less than 30 people in all these years. I have plenty of people who are rude to me or call me names, but I just don’t care when it comes to what strangers say to me. BUT the post about my husband’s 5’3” friend has brought out the crazies and if I get any whiff of you being unhinged in your replies to me or you message me with threats of assault and violence, I’m blocking and reporting you.

This is unbelievably irresponsible advice, especially for marriages where nothing terrible has happened and the spark has simply faded. I know several older women who initiated divorces because they just weren’t happy. Initially they loved their newfound freedom and lived it up. Years later, many seem far less happy. The idea that there’s always something better waiting on the other side is a dangerous promise to make.
"Call Her Daddy" host Alex Cooper & actress Sophia Bush: if a woman is questioning whether she can do better than her current husband, "the answer is always yes." "This idea that it's too late or you're too old, or who are you to want more, that's patriarchy. That is crazy."

I’m genuinely curious why this post has provoked such strong, angry reactions from men. Is it resentment toward women being unreasonably picky? Women having physical preferences in dating? Frustration over a trait men can’t control, or something else? Would the reaction have been the same if my husband had said, “Maybe it’s because he’s 80” or “Maybe it’s because he’s 6’8””? I’m fascinated by why height, specifically, seems to strike such a nerve.
My husband has a divorced friend I see posts from on Facebook who’s handsome, successful, financially well off, athletic, has a beautiful home, travels extensively, loves music and sports , and seems like an incredibly fun guy. I’m a little surprised he hasn’t remarried or found someone serious. Finally, I asked my husband today, “How is this guy still single?” My husband shrugged and said, “Well it might be because he’s 5’3.”

Imagine thinking the people with the greatest ability and resources to relocate are somehow the least likely to respond to a massive new tax by doing exactly that.
Replying to @gabriel_zucman
Economists Jaros and @joshrauh , however, pretend that this one-time tax will cause an exodus of billionaires. This supposed exodus, according to Jaros and @joshrauh, will be permanent: the billionaires will never come back to California. And this permanent exodus will cost a lot of money to the state of California. None of these claims withstands scrutiny.
