Today's Prayer ✝️
Dear Lord, I know I am not perfect, and I ask for Your mercy and forgiveness. I love You, Lord, and I will always need You in my life. Please cover my family, my home, my job, my dreams, my plans, and my friends with Your precious blood. Bless me with good health, strength, and peace. Grant me wisdom and courage to walk in Your ways each day. In Jesus' name, Amen.
I love this post
Well done!
how can you not believe in God when octopuses DREAM and otters have a favorite rock they carry around in a little SKIN POCKET and cows have BEST FRIENDS and bees are out there communicating the coordinates of flowers through INTERPRETIVE DANCE and they have REGIONAL DIALECTS??
cats are PURRING at frequencies associated with bone healing??? forests get absolutely incinerated and respond by growing FLOWERS??? dolphins literally invent NAMES for themselves and yell them across the ocean??? penguins are waddling around Antarctica looking for the PERFECT LITTLE ROCK to give their beloved???
CROWS REMEMBER YOUR FACE. THEY TELL OTHER CROWS ABOUT YOU. THEY TELL THEIR CHILDREN ABOUT YOU. YOU CAN HAVE GENERATIONAL BEEF WITH A BIRD.
goats have ACCENTS. rats GIGGLE when you tickle them. elephants mourn their dead. whales make SONGS and then OTHER WHALES LEARN THE SONG and suddenly everybody across the ocean is singing the new hit single.
monarch butterflies are born knowing how to fly thousands of miles to a place THEY HAVE NEVER BEEN. sea turtles hatch out of an egg, immediately sprint toward an OCEAN they have never seen, disappear into it for like THIRTY YEARS and then somehow come back to THE SAME BEACH???
birds can see COLORS THAT WE CANNOT SEE. there are colors happening RIGHT NOW that we don’t even get to know about.
there are sea slugs that eat algae and STEAL ITS CHLOROPLASTS and then are just like great thanks I’ll be PHOTOSYNTHESIZING NOW. there are mushrooms communicating underground. there are seeds sitting in the dirt for DECADES like no actually I will wait.
squirrels plant MILLIONS OF TREES because they simply cannot remember where they put their snacks.
A CATERPILLAR GOES INTO A LITTLE BAG, DISSOLVES MOST OF ITS BODY INTO ORGANIC SOUP, REARRANGES ITSELF, GROWS WINGS AND LEAVES.
and you’re telling me a tiny acorn knows how to become a 70-foot oak tree??? nobody tells it what to do??? it just has TREE INSTRUCTIONS INSIDE IT???
your body started as ONE CELL. ONE. and that cell divided itself into a brain that can think about its own existence and eyes that can look at stars and hands that can hold somebody else’s hands and a heart that runs on ELECTRICITY without you even asking it to???
the iron in your BLOOD was made inside a STAR.
I’M SORRY?????
we are walking around on a wet rock covered in bioluminescent oceans and singing whales and laughing rats and birds holding lifelong grudges and flowers exploding out of FIRE and somehow we’re supposed to act like this is a normal place to live?????????
An interesting woodland discovery.

Not a fungus. Their relationship with undisturbed rich organic soil fungi is essential to their survival, appearing in late summer.
I dont give meaning to my dreams, but this one just might need explanation
It was my last dream before waking up. I used Grok imagine to recreate it.

When the Garden Goes Rogue
Have you ever been blessed with a gardening season where you suddenly have an overabundance of one or two particular fruit or vegetables and find yourself wondering, “What on earth am I going to do with all of this?” 😂
Last year, it was salsa verde season for me, and I’m still working my way through those jars.
This year, the raspberries were the abundance. Thankfully, that was hardly a problem. 😋
Ive made several jars of Roma/San Marzano sauce- not too crazy. And dried plenty of garlic, but already running low.
But then came the cucumbers and rattlesnake beans. And apparently, they have no intention of slowing down!
I’ve completely lost count of how many batches of rattlesnake beans I’ve blanched and frozen for winter. As for the cucumbers, I’ve been making pickles for two days straight. Dill pickles, balsamic pear pickles, raspberry blush vinegar pickles… apparently, I’m preparing like I live in a food desert. 😂
My son finally asked, “What are you going to do with all these pickles?”
My response?
“I have no idea, son.” 😄
And I’m not done yet. Watermelons still on the way. I wish i could eat them when its not Autumn. Next on the to do list is salsa verde, pickled jalapeños, and figuring out what in the world I’m going to do with three pounds of Serrano peppers.
And just to be clear, I already gave away two pounds of Serrano, Jalapeños and Cayenne.
There are still more on the way. 🥵
At this point, I’m beginning to wonder if my garden is trying to prepare me for opening a produce market 😂 Seriously though, I dont plant with intentions of needing to open a produce market.
So, I’m officially open to suggestions! What would you do with three pounds of Serranos? 🌶️

Pray with me
July 30, 2026
Heavenly Father,
Quiet my heart and still the noise within me. Open my ears to hear Your voice above every distraction. As Your Word says, “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me” (John 10:27). Give me a heart that is quick to obey and slow to wander.
Fill me with Your Holy Spirit, and grant me wisdom, discernment, and a willing spirit. Let Your Word be a lamp to my feet and a light to my path (Psalm 119:105). If You need to correct me, give me humility to receive it. If You want to encourage me, give me faith to believe it. If You call me to act, give me courage to obey without delay.
May I not simply hear Your voice today, but faithfully follow wherever You lead. I ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus.
Amen
To all my gardening friends caught in that love-hate relationship with unwanted pests, here's a few tips that have worked well for me.
I plant calendula, marigolds, dill, basil, and catnip in the center of my raised beds. Not only do they add beautiful color, but they also help attract pollinators and beneficial insects that prey on or parasitize many common garden pests, including the moths that lay hornworm eggs. Catnip, along with dill and calendula, may also help reduce aphid problems by repelling them and attracting beneficial insects that feed on them. It's a simple way to encourage a healthier garden without relying on pesticides, which I don't use.
Another handy tool is a small handheld bug vacuum. It's great for sucking up squash bugs and squash vine borer moths before they become a bigger problem. To remove squash bug eggs, many gardeners simply press a piece of duct tape over them and lift them right off the leaves.
Another tip for spotting green hornworms: use a black light. Tonight I wanted to do a thorough inspection but couldn't find mine, so I downloaded a free black light app on my phone. It worked surprisingly well, and I'm happy to report none of those goofy-looking green gummies were hiding in my garden tonight! – at Coventry, RI
The June full Moon, known as the Strawberry Moon, is the lowest full Moon of the year. Occurring near the summer solstice, it mirrors the Sun's highest path across the sky by following its lowest arc, creating the beautiful illusion of a large, low-hanging Moon.
Praying for miracles in Venezuela. So many deeply moving events are unfolding, and my heart is with the people there during this incredibly difficult time. May strength, comfort, and hope find those who need it most.
