Operation Highway Shield just exposed what's really happening on our highways.
This wasn't a routine DOT check. They targeted driver qualifications, CDL fraud, and unsafe operations — and what they found should alarm every driver and every family on the road.
The results:
51 people detained for being in the country illegally.
21 of them were behind the wheel with non-domiciled CDLs issued by California and New York.
36 drivers failed basic English proficiency requirements.
766 drivers and vehicles placed out-of-service.
86 operators arrested — for offenses including road rage and domestic violence.
Nearly $1M in stolen freight recovered.

Now think about this:
When a driver gets arrested mid-run hauling 80,000 lbs, what happens to that truck? That load? Who's paying to recover it? Who's liable if something goes wrong?

And look at the timing:
🔴 OCT 22 — VIRGINIA: State Sen. Louise Lucas (D), one of Virginia’s most powerful lawmakers, federally indicted on allegations involving marijuana trafficking, racketeering, money laundering and corruption.
🔴 OCT 21 — FLORIDA: Kissimmee Mayor Jackie Espinosa arrested on grand theft and fraud charges involving COVID-era grants.
🔴 OCT 6 — CONNECTICUT: Former State Sen. Dennis Bradley charged in an absentee-ballot case.
