Andrew Probyn isn't a very good journalist, is he? But then, none of the press exactly covered themselves with glory today. Guess you have to look at who employs them.

To much applause, David Shoebridge @DavidShoebridge just wiped the floor with the reporter from The Australian who asked a gotcha question about the 'war in the Middle East'.
If Albanese was capable of speaking with this much passion and integrity he would get more support.
Today's @PressClubAust address by @DavidShoebridge was a once-in-a-generation inspiring political speech.
At last: a party with ethical values ably represented by a superb intellect!
But.. the Ukraine Q & A was messy. @Greens need a better informed and wiser policy on Russia.

@SenSHenderson where do you get off smearing @MichaelWestBiz with accusations of “antisemitism” in Estimates? I’m one of the Jewish contributors to MWM and I’ll decide what’s antisemitism. FYI It’s not the same as opposition to a genocidal state. Retract. youtu.be/6Pr08HSfiVc?si=FgLt…
There's growing momentum to move the United Nations HQ from the USA, which clearly doesn't meet standards expected of a host. Humanity deserves better.
“Do you understand who you are dealing with? This is America. Back up.”
A United Nations meeting was dramatically suspended yesterday after US ambassador Mike Waltz and Cuban foreign minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla both ignored the chair’s plea for order in the chamber.
The problem started when Waltz blamed Cubans for the shocking US embargoes and blockades that are causing huge suffering to the people of the island.
Cuban representatives, astonished at the way Waltz blamed the victims for the crisis, in their eyes, stood up and objected, citing Rule 71, which allows listeners to raise a point of order.
Ambassador Waltz responded that the Cubans didn’t like the substance of his speech, so were not raising a point of order.
But when complaints continued, this caused Ambassador Waltz to lose his temper and shout “Back up! Back away. Do you understand what you’re dealing with? This is America.”
.
INTERNATIONAL TERRITORY
The rest of the United Nations was outraged by this attitude, as the UN building is legally international territory.
When Waltz refused to stop his tirade, Khalilur Rahman, chair of the 81st session, ordered that the meeting be instantly suspended. Waltz ignored him.
The meeting was then resumed, but footage of the argument created a huge storm on social media.
Some people in the US defended Waltz’s narrative, blaming Cubans for the suffering caused by the US embargos.
But much of the commentary from the rest of the world said that the United Nations, for the safety of the delegates and the organization itself, should no longer be situated in New York.
When New York was originally chosen as the site, the US pledged not to politicize US visa access to meetings—but has regularly broken the pledge, such as refusing to allow visas for Palestinians.

Victoria's "Liberal" leader reads a speech that's 100% biased towards the murderous war-crazy Israeli regime and 100% biased against its opponents.
She promises to crack down on free speech and the right to protest for opponents of Zionism.
Jews are only ~0.75% of Victoria's population - Zionist Jews even less. Why so biased @Jesswilsonmp?

Our country stands at a critical crossroads. Change must occur - but what kind of change? And crucially, for who?
I'm presenting our alternative vision for this country at the National Press Club this Wednesday, 12:30pm AEDT. Tune in live on ABC TV & iView.
The Israeli election is another triumph for the only democracy in the middle east.
The "Mean-Spirited Mossad Party" is almost neck and neck with the "We Hate Arabs Even More Party". To form government, one of them must do a deal with the "Ultra-Religious Loony Party" and/or the "Kill Them All Party". The "Arabs Who Aren't Allowed to Reject Zionism Party" may also influence the outcome.
Disclaimer: this prediction was written a month ago. Haven't bothered to watch the news today. Do tell me if I'm off the mark.

David Shoebridge was the only Senator in the room who had questions for Segal, in fact he could have kept asking but ran out of time.
Nobody else had anything to ask the Special envoy, who was once again logged in from home.
Yanukovych says that even if he could turn back time, he still wouldn't sign the EU deal. Look at what Brussels put on the table in 2013.
The EU offered €610 million, on condition that Kiev sign a loan deal with the IMF. "We don't have to be humiliated like this," Yanukovych told Ukrainian TV, adding that the IMF wanted higher taxes and frozen salaries and pensions.
Russia bought about a quarter of Ukraine's exports, and Ukraine's machine-building and aircraft plants worked largely for Russian customers. He warned the deal would wreck whole sectors of the economy.
On November 21, 2013, Kiev put the deal on hold. Less than a month later, Moscow offered $15 billion in loans and cut the gas price by a third.
He was never against closer ties with Europe, he says. He refused to sign a deal that, in his words, betrayed Ukraine's national interests. The Maidan protests began the night he put it on hold, and three months later he was overthrown.

Lula has won a fourth term in spite of Meta, after Brazil’s electoral court had to order platforms to stop throttling his reach while they boosted his Trump-backed opponent. Big Tech tried to rig this but the Brazilian people had the final say ✊
Lula's victory is a relief for those of us, worldwide, who care about the environment.
That should mean everybody - but in this sorry era of bogans such as Trump, Farage and Hanson - our planet's biodiversity hangs by a thread.
Dear @Tony_Burke,
I'm an erstwhile admirer of yours, but cannot in conscience say anything positive about you until you stand up to the Israel Lobby.
Rather than continue complicity in genocide, you should resign and/or demand a leadership spill.

One of the reasons why the US🇺🇸 and Israel want to see Lula Da Silva ousted from power in Brazil🇧🇷:
‘What’s happening in Gaza isn’t a war. It’s an army killing women and children. It’s a genocide.
The anti-Semitism victim mentality has to stop. It’s a genocide.’
🇧🇷 ICYMI, the difference between Lula Da Silva and Flávio Bolsonaro:
Flávio Bolsonaro, the son of Jair Bolsonaro, a Captain of Brazil’s Army during the dictatorship, mocked Lula for having only 9 fingers. This was Lula’s response:
“He called me ‘nine fingers’. If there's anyone who knows what the world of work is like, it's me. I worked at night, even when I wasn't supposed to be working.
I will not allow a militiaman to call me ‘nine fingers’. He has never worked a day in his life. He doesn't know what a work ID is.
The first job he had was a fake job given to him by his father but stayed in Brasilia. And now he comes and calls me ‘nine fingers’?”
