RIP Ka, rap's greatest minimalist, Brownsville's finest, inimitably dedicated himself to his city & craft. The master of quiet rage, writing zen koans with unremitting soul & passion. Pain, grief & wisdom in every bar. An artist as pure & real as anyone who ever spit cold facts.

RIP the great Gena Rowlands, an actor and muse who left everything up on the screen. She perhaps more than anyone before removed the safety net of self-consciousness from acting. Her performances exist between a place of thrilling rawness and supreme precision.

look at these horrifying images, realise how close we came to public lynchings and remember that just five days ago local labour mp @SarahEdwardsTam publicly named this hotel in the commons - putting a giant target on it in the process. she clearly must resign.
Aftermath of violence in Tamworth shows how a mob smashed their way into a hotel used by asylum seekers, tried to set fire to it with them and staff inside. Petrol bombs, fireworks, bricks and other missiles were thrown at police. The building is covered in racist graffiti. @GMB

It's a horrible wet July, so we've got a giveaway to cheer you up – a bundle of Criterion Collection's UK summer releases! Simply follow us and RT to enter. (UK+ROI only, sorry!) The Criterion Collection 4K UHD and Blu-ray titles are available at HMV, Amazon, Rarewaves & Zavvi.
Its right to be wary of Figma introducing AI tools and how they might affect the future career stability of designers - especially as they expand their product offering and pricing to be less reliant on designer users

expecting AI to deal with every aspect of human complexity (behaviour, taste, subjectivity) for us so corporations can accumulate more wealth will bring nothing but horror
this is despicable, but it's made to look like something designers want, so everyone will fall for it 🤪

Wondering at what point I give up waiting for my copy of Trenque Lauquen from @FilmsRadiance to turn up and just decide it's been lost - Royal Mail claim to have the parcel, but seem to have no idea now when they'll attempt to deliver it

The defense industry has historically been a proving ground for many of the systems we rely on today. These institutions are often leaders in emerging technologies, and we believe it’s better to understand how their approach will impact our lives.

It's my usual repetitive isnt-this-just-work bs, only more carefree.
I made it for my kids, who claim to "love it", as is their obligation.
I don't think I've ever had my opinion on a TV show drop quite so hard as with True Detective Night Country. I loved the first episode - a compelling mystery setup, a moody atmosphere and a nice noir twist of perpetual night - but every episode since has just undercut that
