What began as a small swelling on Mathias’s thigh soon turned into a life-altering journey. During the strict restrictions of the COVID-19 lockdown, limited resources and movement barriers meant his family had to rely on local remedies. With time, the infection worsened into Chronic Osteomyelitis causing severe pain, mobility loss in his knee, and ultimately forcing Mathias to drop out of school. ​His path toward healing took a hopeful turn in September 2026. Through the dedicated outreach of @OURSProgram , supported by @cbmWorldwide and in partnership with #WisdomTrainingCentre Ibanda, Mathias was identified, evaluated, and provided with emergency surgical intervention. ​Thanks to comprehensive post-surgical care and intensive rehabilitation, Mathias has regained his mobility and independence.
