Barnyard Fun Comes to @WestlawnTCS! Students in the @Westlawn21CCLC After-School Program enjoyed a special visit from the Tuscaloosa Barnyard right at their school! Students had the opportunity to pet and interact with goats, chickens, a pig, a miniature horse, rabbits and other animals. They even got to pick out their own mini pumpkin to take home! The hands-on experience went beyond animal encounters. The activity incorporated social-emotional learning (SEL), along with math and reading assignments, giving students a fun and engaging way to apply their skills beyond traditional classroom lessons. The 21st CCLC After-School Program provides students throughout Tuscaloosa with opportunities to receive extra academic support while participating in enriching activities, building friendships and strengthening relationships with teachers. It’s all part of creating meaningful experiences that help students grow academically, socially and emotionally! Hello Week Is Every Week! Hello Week may be celebrated in September, but the spirit of kindness, connection and belonging should be part of every single day! A simple hello, a friendly smile, an invitation to join in or a few words of encouragement can make a world of difference. Small acts of kindness remind others that they are seen, valued and welcomed just as they are. Every student deserves to feel connected, included and accepted—and it’s up to all of us to help create that sense of belonging in our schools and communities. Let’s keep the spirit of Hello Week alive all year long by reaching out, lifting one another up, celebrating our differences and making kindness a daily habit. Because when everyone feels like they belong, our school communities become stronger, more caring places where every student has the opportunity to thrive! One hello can make a difference. One act of kindness can change a day. And together, we can create a culture of belonging every day of the year! #helloweek #KindnessMatters #youbelonghere #ChooseKindness #AMAZINGtotheCORE @tcsverner @sandyhook @MikeDaria @tidecam @ESPNupe @MathNEWelS @AngieFMorrison @TerriCeleste1 @TuscaloosaEduc1

Spotlight on Families: Adrian & Fletcher Wilder Oakdale Elementary School 💙 Celebrating Families Who Make a Difference! 💙 Tuscaloosa City Schools is proud to celebrate Adrian and Fletcher Wilder as part of our Spotlight on Families recognition. Their continued presence, involvement and partnership at @oakdaleelement are a wonderful example of the difference an engaged family can make. The Wilders are consistently present in the Oakdale community—attending parent meetings, supporting school events and volunteering whenever they are needed. But their impact goes beyond simply showing up. They have made a commitment to being active partners in their children’s school experience and to helping Oakdale be a place where students, families and staff can thrive. Their involvement reflects something we value deeply at TCS: when families feel connected to their school and choose to be active partners in their children’s education, everyone benefits. Strong family-school relationships help build trust, strengthen school communities and create an environment where students can feel supported and successful. We are proud to recognize the Wilders for the difference they make at Oakdale and for demonstrating what meaningful family engagement looks like. Their partnership is a reminder that families are not just part of our schools—they are an essential part of what makes our schools strong. 🌟 Thank you, Adrian and Fletcher Wilder, for choosing to be part of the Oakdale family and for helping make a difference! @MikeDaria @tidecam @ESPNupe @GilesVertis @LBlevins_ @GRANTE1 @bamaEMW @AlabamaAchieves @KieraSEzell @DeniseArringt19 @tuscaloosacity @WaltMaddox @TerriCeleste1 @TuscaloosaEduc1 @RepTerriSewell @LesleyP3838 @sheltonstate @downwithautism @tvcrews7 @missgoggins @MrsAndersonTCS @RobinH1228 @MathNEWelS #SpotlightOnFamilies #OakdaleStrong #FamilyEngagement #FamilySchoolPartnership #TCSStrong #AMAZINGtotheCORE

🎉 Grand Opening — OES Care Closet for All Earlier this week, @oakdaleelement celebrated the grand opening of the OES Care Closet for All—a special space created with care, compassion and our students at heart! 💙🦅 At Oakdale, caring for the whole child means making sure every student has what they need to feel confident, comfortable and ready to learn. The Care Closet will provide students with access to essential personal-care items, including deodorant, soap, body wash, body spray, towels and other hygiene necessities. With parent/guardian permission, students who need additional support can discreetly access these resources throughout the school year. The OES Care Closet for All is about more than providing essential items—it’s about removing barriers, protecting student dignity and making sure every Falcon knows they are valued, supported and cared for. We are so proud to celebrate this meaningful addition to the Oakdale family and grateful to everyone who helped make this vision a reality! 💙🦅✨ Because when our students feel cared for, they’re ready to soar! @MikeDaria @tidecam @ESPNupe @bamaEMW @DeniseArringt19 @KieraSEzell @GRANTE1 @downwithautism C&J Resources @TerriCeleste1 @MathNEWelS @RobinH1228 @LBlevins_ @supererogate @MrsAndersonTCS #OakdaleStrong #CareClosetForAll #StudentSuccess #WholeChild #WeAreTCS #AMAZINGtotheCORE
