Can't make it up
Since 1954-55 (Shot-Clock Era), NBA teams were 65-0 when leading 20+ points at halftime of a season opener.
The #Cavs (24-point lead) just became the FIRST team to lose when leading by 20+ points at halftime.
Teams are now 65-1.
Not gonna lie... I'm more steamed than I thought I would be.
It's just over & over & over & over again with this Cavs team. They have learned nothing.
A chance to start 1-0.
A chance to wash away at least some of the sour taste from last season's collapse at MSG.
A chance to get an early one over on LeBron James.
The Cavs threw it all away... again.
It's just the expectation now.

Regarding the Acton/Ramaswamy story, amazing local Ohio journalists are doing critical reporting. Most only have a few thousand followers. Meanwhile 'influencers' with tens or hundreds of thousands have been wildly irresponsible and contributed no facts of value. See the problem?

Great news from the Vatican!
Pope Leo XIV’s doctors have confirmed that the tumor removed on October 13 was a lung adenocarcinoma and that the disease was localized.
Dr. Luigi Carbone and Professor Stefano Margaritora said on Wednesday evening that a subsequent oncological assessment has confirmed that “no further treatment is necessary.”

Amazing work by one of baseball's most amazing writers.
You can feel the sadness of the Cleveland baseball experience in every word of this bittersweet piece by Zack.
A 78-year championship drought and the burden of a team and its fan base:

Screw it… I’m picking the Cavs to go to the Finals.
They’ll probably lose to OKC, but this is the year parity gets them back to the Finals.

New record just dropped (look away, my fellow Clevelanders)…

Again, I'm trying to see it both ways.
Clearly they needed more than just 2 1/2 starters (& Messick wasn't good either). Ideally Bibee should've gotten run as their top innings guy.
But... 5.66 ERA in Aug. & Sept. He was a mess in Chicago.
There are reasons he didn't pitch.

My hope is that this postseason finally kills off these endless "bullpen games."
Not only is it unsustainable — it's just not fun baseball.

Tonight certainly hurts.
Next year is just never guaranteed.
In 1997, we thought Cleveland would be back in the World Series every year. They didn't return until 2016.
In 2016, we thought it was the start of a title window opportunity. They haven't been back since.
Sobering.

ALCS thoughts:
- The St. Pete crowd showed out for the clincher, as they should.
- Guardians ‘pen ran out of gas. Shows the danger of constant bullpen games. You need your SPs in October.
- This World Series will be between the two best teams in baseball. Plenty of CBA storylines, but let’s not ignore how good these two teams are. Should be a really, really fun series.
