Amit Shah has made it clear that the SIR of electoral rolls will not be discontinued and all ‘infiltrators’ will be deported from India.
On Monday, Shah took part in a ‘padyatra’ in Hyderabad. He alleged that Rahul Gandhi is dreaming of coming to power by inducting ‘infiltrators’ as voters.
At the INDIA bloc rally, Rahul Gandhi had raised two important issues: One, names of 13 crore voters were deleted and this helped Narendra Modi to become the PM for the third time. Two, BJP is unwilling to reply to queries being raised on SIR.
Amit Shah debunked both these allegations. He said, when Modi became the PM for the third time in 2024, Gyanesh Kumar was not the Chief Election Commissioner at that time.
Shah said, out of the 13 crore voters whose names were deleted, nearly 3 crore voters were those who are dead, 1.5 crore voters were duplicate, and names of three crore ‘infiltrators’ were removed from electoral rolls.
On SIR issue, Amit Shah challenged the opposition leaders to join a debate in Parliament. He said that the government would reply to each of their questions.
Parliament is the right forum for such a debate, but when the opposition could not dislodge Modi from power thrice, it took to the streets. Now, BJP has countered it by holding ‘padyatras’ and marches.
