Carol service last night. Well done to Thomas Hardye Singers, our two organists, and our instrumentalists who were part of our West Gallery band (inspired by @GabrieliCandP and @Paul_McCreesh!) We are so proud of every single student who took part! youtube.com/watch?v=H9VPnj8N…

To support the Royal College of Organists scheme to introduce the organ to as many new people as possible, all our year 10 GCSE students have been having a go. @RCO_Updates, @WessexSchMusic

We are so proud of the Thomas Hardye Singers for a beautiful Evensong in Sherborne Abbey last night! We are now preparing for ‘A Grand Georgian Christmas’ at Exeter Cathedral with Gabrieli Roar Dec 9. @WessexSchMusic @GabrieliCandP @SherborneAbbey #grandgeorgian #GabrieliRoar

Over 40 of our students were entertained at a reimagining of Verdi’s Otello, set in Dorchester’s historic Shire Hall courtroom. The Trial of Iago mixed extracts from the opera, with an historic Crimewatch style trial. A wonderful introduction to opera for many of our students.

Good news for all Thomas Hardye pianists. There is now a Bechstein grand piano for use in Mu1.

Having entered recordings of our Big Band and Concert Band, we are proud and honoured to have been invited to perform at the Music For Youth National Festival 2023 at the Symphony Hall in Birmingham. We sadly can’t attend, so maybe next year! @musicforyouth

On Friday 24th May at 4.30pm The Thomas Hardye Singers will be performing an Evensong featuring the music of Ireland and Bruckner. Please come and listen.

Our students sung as part of the Wessex Schools Choir with Dorchester Choral Society. They performed Pergoleisi’s ‘Stabat Mater’ and Rutter’s ‘The Lord Bless You And Keep You’ before joining forces with the adults for a performance of ‘Pietà’ by Richard Blackford. @WessexSchMusic

Today, a number of talented Thomas Hardye School musicians performed solo pieces as part of a concert featuring Wessex Schools Music musicians. It was raising money for the wonderful local charity Julia’s House. There were some stunning performances. @Julias_House @WessexSchMusic

Congratulations to The Thomas Hardye Singers as well as our amazing vocal soloists and orchestral musicians for a once in a lifetime performance of Mozart’s opera Idomeneo. The entire experience was breathtaking. Huge thanks to Jon Valender and Destination:Opera!

A huge thank you to Robbie McIntosh and Steve Wilson for laying down the guitar and bass tracks for our year 13 Music technology students. It is a privilege for our students to work with such high calibre musicians.
