Government - and the public - need to grasp that Carer's Allowance, Universal Credit, PIP and legacy benefits are now woefully inadequate. They are not enough to live on with modern costs, especially for disabled people facing huge additional expenses.

UK unemployment stats say there are 2.5 people for every vacancy. But factor in people already in work applying, phantom jobs, withdrawn vacancies and duplicate adverts, and the real competition is closer to 10 people chasing every genuine job. That's the labour market.

Finally over. I've been busy with a criminal prosecution against someone who was on X making false assertions about disabilities and PIP. It unfolded into very sinister depths, revealing multiple attacks on people with disabilities. Thankfully, they are in prison now.

Benefit scroungers are the largely mythic folk devils the right roll out of the closet when people get bored with scapegoating migrants. Our benefit system is far from generous, most people on them live very frugal lives, but they are an easy target for the hate merchants like Lowe, Jenrick & Farage.
