Bit of personal news:
In January I was diagnosed with Diabetes. My blood sugar level was 12, they weren’t sure if I was Type 1 or 2 and I needed to be put on injections (once per week) and pills (four per day) to reduce the blood sugar levels and lose weight.

After revealing she was diagnosed with myalgic encephalomyelitis this past week, @BethDobbin has written to Andy Burnham to call on the UK government to fund research into the chronic illness.
Back in May the UK government stated they would invest £4.75 million into a world-first genomics study of ME, but that figure is quite a lot lower compared to current research on other illnesses.
There's no doubting that @BethDobbin has raised significant awareness of ME and you'd hope it will lead to further action by those who could make a difference!
We’ve been blown away by the response to my interview with @BBCSport & @KatieFalkingham , thank you so much to everyone who has taken the time to read and engage with it ❤️ millions of views across multiple platforms really is immense.
We have since written to @andyburnham , calling on the @UKLabour government to fund research into this horrific illness. I know there’s so much more we could say, but with limited capacity, we’ve tried to focus on the lack of funding, resources in the NHS and how much it’s actually costing the government.
As you can see on the slides, it has been drastically underfunded compared to other illnesses and it is currently costing the UK Government far more than it would cost to fund research. ME is most often a post-viral illness. Therefore, since the start of the Covid pandemic, we’ve seen cases increase drastically and they will continue to increase. We need funding into research urgently. With estimates of people with ME being around 1.35 million, this is a lot of lives destroyed.
I’ve had thousands of messages on multiple platforms since sharing my story so please bear with me ❤️
Thanks to @ThereForME_UK and @wecrunchme for the stats.

Turned the Bears game off
Haven’t turned one off early in years, but why waste a Sunday watching a team who is very clearly not trying this week.
The week of the Ditka passing no less. Pathetic.

@Predamame @ORION_coaching Looks like Rupp is back and getting serious again as a 40 year old. Note last 5 marathon times. Aging has its privileges. Maybe some Salazar-like magic at play?
Weird how all these stories are emerging after they won the league. Without the league win it’s just David Brent nonsense
🚨 𝗡𝗘𝗪: Mikel Arteta has revealed that he DESTROYED an office at Arsenal's training ground on his VERY FIRST DAY as manager in 2019!
He threw computers, laptops and cables onto the floor before giving his staff just TWO MINUTES to put everything back together.
When he returned, the room was SPOTLESS.
🗣️ “Everyone was silent and had their eyes open and they were ready to listen.”
Arteta explained that the exercise was designed to show that EVERYONE at Arsenal needed to work together to achieve success.
Good luck to them and their health. That is a slow ticking time bomb if they took thyroid meds they don’t need.

David Ornstein was outstanding on the The Overlap.
His conduct throughout this whole City cheating saga, while breaking the biggest football story of not only his career - but this century - has been exemplary.
The media coverage, from Nick Harris, Rob Harris, Matthew Syed, David Conn, Matt Slater & Martyn Zeigler's many years of reporting, shows there is still a place for proper journalism.
And this Premier League investigation never happens without Rui Pinto & Der Spiegel's Football Leaks team.

Now the government suddenly has no interest in interfering in club ownership, funny that
UK Prime Minister, @andyburnham: “I'd be really concerned to lose them [#ManCity's owners]. They’ve been such a huge partner in the building of modern Manchester. Obviously, the building of Manchester City into the global force that it is.
"I can’t intervene more in the process. It'd be wrong to do that. It'd be wrong to jump to a conclusion before having really studied all the detail, but obviously it’s ongoing, and because it’s still contested by Manchester City, I think it’s right that I don’t say much more..."
