“Our hardest workers are our best players. It’s not fake. Our best players are our hardest workers. Go out and watch them practice and it’s like that everyday. That’s the standard. So if you’re not up to that standard with the effort matching what our best players do, you’re not going to be around here very long,” Dan Campbell

Tom Brady says his career turned around when a sports psychologist told him to stop complaining about what he wasn’t getting and start stewarding what he had the right way
“Greg said to me, ‘Why don’t you quit bitching about all the things you’re not getting, and how about you do the best with whatever opportunities you get?’, ‘Stop worrying about what the other quarterback’s getting. Stop worrying about what the coach is saying to you.’”
“‘Every time you get in there, you bring the juice. You bring the energy. You bring the enthusiasm. You treat practice like a game.’ Because if you just decide to go out there and you’re blaming everybody else, where does that get you? So I started to change my attitude.”
“I didn’t have a lot of confidence in myself. And when you don’t have a lot of confidence in yourself, you blame other people. When you gain confidence in yourself, you start pointing the finger at yourself.”
“I would encourage every athlete to look in the mirror after every day of practice or a game and say, ‘What can I do better to help the team? What can I do better?’”
“Not, ‘What does the coach need to do better?’ Not, ‘What do my teammates need to do better?’, ‘What do I need to do better?’ If every player does that, you’re going to have an incredible team.”
“You can’t have a false confidence. You don’t only gain your confidence because of your physical ability. You gain your confidence because you’re prepared, because you’re competitive. I couldn’t just show up and be better than everybody.”
“I had to show up prepared. I had to show up with energy. I had to show up with my body feeling right. I had to show up like I was on a mission.”

“ALS has forced me to realize that who I am is so much bigger than what my body can do.”
Former @Titans RB @ChrisJohnson28 kept his ALS battle private for a long time. In a letter to his kids, he writes that he is still the same person he has always been despite the disease — he’ll always be their dad. ❤️ playerstribu.ne/ChrisJohnson

Nick Chubb explains how one of the hardest parts of becoming successful is that he literally can't recreate the hunger he had when he was broke and working out three times a day
“I remember how hungry I was as a high school kid, and it’s so hard for me to tap into that mindset again. I can’t be that hungry kid that worked out three times a day mentally. I just can’t, because I have a lot of things now. I’m successful.”
“That’s the closest thing I can do to feel like I’m still that high school kid, go back to my hometown with Mikey Worthington, in the same weight room when I had nothing. That’s the same place I had nothing in. It’s the same coach who was there who believed in me as a young kid.”
“To go back and just feel all that again, it works magic for me. All my success comes from me going home in the middle of Cedartown, where there’s nothing around, and just grinding for six months straight.”
“On leg day, you just say put it all on the bar. If I think about it, I don’t really have a max. I just stop at some point. “Worthington, man, he pushes me. Sometimes I don’t feel like doing all that weight. He’ll say, ‘Shit, when you was in high school, you would’ve did it.’ He just takes me back to me being hungry.”
