Sometimes I tell myself that I could make a living as a demotivational speaker, but then I talk myself out of even trying.

Heart and Souls. Robert Downey Jr., Alfre Woodard, Charles Grodin, Kyra Sedgwick. Charming and funny and the best on screen rendition of Walk Like A Man ever.

One of the most powerful books I ever read. Still haunts me.

It looks like you killed them and had a taxidermist stretch their skins over your phones.

Sorry to hear it, but I understand. I’ve been reading you for all of those years and I won’t stop now, but I will miss the political insights.

A terrible game in the late 70s. My brother in law, on a dare, let out his trademark loud heckling laugh, like a Tarzan yell, from the last row of the 600 level at the 50 yd line. He got Vermeil and a few Eagles on the sidelines to turn and look up to see where it came from.

Ridiculous tradition. Ended with my class (‘73). I never got one. They ran out and told me to come back later. Yeah, right. Why volunteer for harassment from Seniors? “How many bricks in Wister Hall?” Fined $.25 for wrong answer to help fund the Dink Dance.

His brother wrote the career guides, “What Color Is Your Parachute?” and “The Three Boxes of Life.” He included a long poem honoring his brother after his death and I choked up every time I read it.
Trump says that the country is so dangerous that you can’t cross the street to shop without getting shot or raped.
He must be thinking of crossing Fifth Avenue or shopping at Bergdorf Goodman.

Heaven Knows, Mr. Allison. My mom said Robert Mitchum reminded her of my young dad. He used to sing “Don’t sit under the apple tree…” to her before he left for WWII. He came home with Purple Hearts, but he did come home to her. Now I watch it and think of her, thinking of him.

It was Swiss. You can get provolone on a cheesesteak in many shops here (though not at Pat’s). In any case, good advance work to alert him would have avoided this tiny misstep.

The Biden campaign and every anti-Trump PAC should add a TV sitcom laugh track to their ads.

None of the lies were surprises. They were oft-repeated stump speech bits. The network could have a list of fact check chyrons ready and tell the campaigns, “if your candidate says _______, then THIS ________ will appear onscreen under their face.”

In 1969 I sat in his chair for the first and last time. I was in ROTC so I said, “just a LITTLE shorter all over.” He scalped me. “Oh, I thought you said ‘SHORT all over.’” Started freshman year with super short hair back when hair was a big deal. Took 4 mos. to grow back.

A “Like” is not enough. This one is a “Bravo!”
A shoutout to @RepJackKimble, @DougJBalloon (New York Times PitchBot) and @3YearLetterman who are among the top people who make this site livable. They dance on the razor blade’s edge of wit and sarcasm and reveal the gullible rage addicts among us.

From Mad Magazine, maybe 50 years ago. That’s how long this visual joke has stuck with me.
