Good evening everyone. You can now raise money to support trans writers just breaking into the field AND force me to watch and review the worst movies of all time. It's two great tastes that taste great together.

#TRANSreadathon, a #24HourReadathon focused on reading books by trans authors, is back! From July 30-31, 2022, we'll be reading, sharing, and celebrating great reads by trans voices. (As in the great, big trans umbrella: any author who isn't cis!) Choose your own start/end time.
ALT A graphic with a stack of pink, blue, and white books. The spines of the books read Totally Reading All Night In Solidarity (about one word per book spine). Text in the white space of the graphic reads: 24-Hour Readathon, 7/30/22-7/31/22, Twitter and Instagram, @TRANSreadathon, #TRANSreadathon.
We're keeping things very chill this year. Just post using the #TRANSreadathon hashtag that weekend, and be sure to check the hashtag to cheer on others - and hopefully find more books to add to your neverending TBR piles! 😁

NEVADA arrives in one month! Until then, we’re thrilled to share an excerpt of @imogenbinnie’s brilliant afterword to the new edition, which traces the novel’s origins through an archive of trans live in the aughts. Now up on @parisreview.

Dystopian writers seem to mistakenly believe that the problems of cisheterosexual women are exclusive to cisheterosexual women, argues @Fox_E_Lori in their new book “This Has Always Been A War.”

while Sexed Up covers a lot of ground, it is especially timely given the recent conservative/GOP onslaught of accusations claiming that everything they oppose (e.g., LGTBQIA+ people, critical race theory) is tantamount to “grooming” or “pornography”...

Like a lot of other trans people, I’m disheartened by the lack of action or even awareness on the part of our “allies” as we face a torrent of anti-trans laws. With you, my cis friend, or friend of a friend, I want to share this Elie Wiesel quote:
ALT “The opposite of love is not hate, it’s indifference. The opposite of art is not ugliness, it’s indifference. The opposite of faith is not heresy, it’s indifference. And the opposite of life is not death, it’s indifference.”

FYI though, if you're trans and searching for "look for the helpers" hope, as those Alabama anti-trans bills have looked more and more certain to pass in the last hour or so, my phone has been basically exploding with notifications about sign ups to help on @TransFamNet
