It’s the height of hypocrisy that the man who left $85 billion in state-of-the-art military hardware in Afghanistan presumes to lecture us. And he does it knowing he’s left our southern border wide open and you vulnerable. If Afghans get Apache helicopters, you keep your guns.

The immediate benefit is learning how to turn things on and off - emotions and reactions, assumptions, intrusive thoughts etc. More takes a lifetime. What we all want is a basis for compassion toward ourselves and all beings. I've seen it work.

People who claim that same-sex attraction isn’t sinful if a person is celibate are wrong. Same-sex attraction is a perverse attraction that opposes God’s will for human sexuality. When God restores a person, their affections will be restored too. Namely, grace restores nature.
