❓ A 12-year-old with severe pulmonary arterial hypertension has profound right ventricular dysfunction but preserved left ventricular function and no complex congenital heart disease. Which principle should guide procedure selection?
A. Bilateral lung transplantation is contraindicated
B. Do not assume heart–lung transplantation is mandatory; severe right ventricular dysfunction alone does not establish that need
C. Single-lung transplantation is always preferred
D. No transplant can reverse pulmonary vascular afterload

DCDD kidneys: higher early rejection, but equivalent graft survival, similar long-term eGFR, and better patient survival vs DNDD in 10,144 ANZDATA recipients. Strong support for using more DCDD kidneys.#TXPforAll #KidneyTransplantation #OpenAccess tinyurl.com/bdzazjp6
🔬 Help Shape the Future of Kidney Transplantation!
The Transplantation Society invites members of the global transplantation community to participate in a short survey on molecular biomarkers in kidney transplantation.
The survey aims to identify unmet needs, experiences and perspectives among key stakeholders, including clinicians and transplant recipients and other consumers.
🕒 It takes just 5–10 minutes to share your insights and help identify priorities for the use of molecular biomarkers in kidney transplantation.
Your perspective matters! Thank you!

In Memoriam: Dr. Paul S. Russell Jr.
The transplantation community mourns the loss of Dr. Paul S. Russell Jr., a pioneering surgeon and scientist who helped shape the field of transplantation as we know it today. Dr. Russell, the John Homans Distinguished Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital, died on August 22, 2026, at the age of 101.
Through his clinical, scientific and administrative leadership, Dr. Russell helped move transplantation from an experimental science to an established field of clinical medicine. His legacy will endure through the countless lives and careers influenced by his work.
We extend our condolences to his family, colleagues and all who were touched by his remarkable contributions.
