Strategies to Avoid COVID and Other Respiratory Viruses ➡️ The most important thing that we can do is avoid getting infected in the first place. ⬅️ If we become infected, the goal is to limit the number of viral particles we are infected with. tactnowinfo.substack.com/p/s…

1/4 EBOLA UPDATE: By Oct. 23, the DRC had reported 9,816 confirmed Bundibugyo Ebola cases and 4,757 deaths. The outbreak now spans eight provinces and has become the deadliest in the country’s history.

4/4 TACT’s view: The risk of a U.S. imported case is rising, but sustained community spread remains unlikely. Ebola spreads through direct contact with infectious body fluids—not airborne like measles. Testing, isolation, contact tracing and healthcare protection remain critical.

3/4 Exportation is increasing. Kenya has reported 9 cases and 2 deaths. Nigeria detected a case with no known DRC travel. Its virus was reportedly closely related to Kenya’s index case, but investigators have not established a direct transmission link.
19
2/4 Nearly two-thirds of 482 recently reported Ebola deaths occurred in communities—not treatment centers. That signals delayed detection, poor access, fear or weakened surveillance. Attacks on health workers are making containment harder.

Look at the timeline, not just the peak: the graph tracks inflation month by month alongside COVID, stimulus payments under both Trump and Biden, the reopening of international travel, and Putin’s invasion of Ukraine. It then shows inflation falling to roughly 3% by the end of Biden’s term. That context tells a much fuller story..

Now, 3.7% inflation — higher than most rates since Clinton — and rising. Prices climbing on oil tied to the Iran war, deficit spending, and tariffs.

"[The hospitalized adult patients in Pennsylvania] are weak and disoriented with meningitis, sepsis or pneumonia. Some have bacterial infections in their blood, kidney failure or hepatitis.. Pennsylvania’s measles outbreak is defying epidemiologists’ expectations and historical trends: Adults account for about two-thirds of the 1,300 cases reported by the state.. Until now, measles was rarely seen among adults.. Pennsylvania’s outbreak is also sending people to the hospital at almost twice the rate seen in other recent outbreaks. Six people diagnosed with measles — four of them adults — have died, according to state health officials and local coroners. An infant, born with the disease after his mother was sick during pregnancy, was among the deaths.. The toll showcases how adults over age 20 are among the groups at greatest risk for serious complications.. Children under 5 and people with compromised immune systems are also at high risk for severe illness.." I believe the number of immunocompromized adults is increasing. 'Measles is thought of as a childhood illness, but more Pennsylvania adults are getting sick' thetimes-tribune.com/2026/10…

There is something really concerning (and disappointing) going on in the US right now. A dangerous and preventable situation. Let me explain. nextstrain.org/avian-flu/h5n… 1/

The Rockbridge Network is a U.S. conservative donor network co-founded by J.D. Vance and Chris Buskirk. Look into this. @ManMaytag

The Andes Hantavirus response can not be built around comfort language, voluntary fever checks, and trust that every exposed person will report mild symptoms perfectly. The public does not need panic. It needs precision. 1/

"Once Andes virus escapes a controlled exposure network, the response becomes much harder. There is no available vaccine to prevent infection and no proven antiviral treatment that reliably stops disease once it begins." tactnowinfo.substack.com/p/a…

Why aren't you focused on the Andes Hantavirus, which the CDC isn't containing right now? Now is the time to contain it. Don't complain at a hearing 6 years later. It spreads human to human, with documented superspreading events. 32% fatality rate. xitter.cf/i/status/2054560317938…

"The super-spreading capability of the ANDV Epuyén/18−19 strain shows a facility (R>2) for sustaining continuous chains of transmission if no control measures are enforced." Once out of containment, it will take lockdowns to stop it. There is no vaccine or antiviral against it

🚨 Hantavirus- Andes Variant- Birthday party of 100 people and 11 people died. Wife went to husbands wake- 6 more infected. That was in 2018 in a small village. Extreme quarantine stopped spread. Every country but U.S. is doing 42 day quarantine of passengers from cruise. 🤔

"On the basis of both the epidemiologic and genomic investigations of person-to-person transmission events, it appears that inhalation of droplets or aerosolized virions may have been the routes of infection." This could be a closer range airborne transmission. Just breathing.

They must know all this. Major media is saying it's a Hantavirus. Most don't spread, and that's what they report. That led to most people searching Google for Hanta, not Andes. People become complacent until it's too late. In the U.S./modern society, it could spread faster.

Once home, they are supposed to check for a fever every day & self report. How many will not self report, thinking they can wait a few days to avoid stricter quarantine? Do they know the average time from symptoms starting until death is under 7 days and 32% fatality rate?

The U.S. is allowing 16 people being "quarantined" in Nebraska to go home in a few days, well before the average 17 to 24 day incubation period, and way before the max 42 day incubation period. How are they getting home? Commercial jets? Once home, family members are at risk.
