did you know most friendly bets never get paid?
not because people are broke, but because nobody holds the money.
that’s the problem i wanted to solve.
so i built DUEL on @NEARProtocol.
here’s how it works:
→ you and your friend lock in the same amount.
→ the funds stay secured in a smart contract, not with either person.
→ price bets and football results settle automatically.
→ for everything else, friends in your group chat can vote on the outcome. no wallet or gas fees needed.
once the result is confirmed, the winner gets paid.
no chasing anyone. no awkward reminders. just bet, settle, and move on.

What if your NFT’s most valuable information was the part nobody else could see?
Most NFTs give you something people can inspect.
The artwork, rarity, traits and attributes are usually visible to anyone who checks the collection.
But imagine owning a game character whose abilities are known to you, while your opponent has no idea what you’re working with.
You could use those abilities without revealing them.
That’s one of the possibilities @FungoLabs is exploring with encrypted NFTs.
Think beyond collectible artwork.
Fungo Genesis NFTs have two layers:
1. The Look: the visual artwork, which the holder can keep sealed or permanently publish.
2. The Essence: the class, four stats and element, which remain encrypted onchain.
The interesting part is that the Essence isn’t just hidden for privacy.
With Fully Homomorphic Encryption, smart contracts can perform calculations on encrypted information without first exposing the underlying values.
That changes what these NFTs could be used for.
Consider a game built around hidden attributes.
Imagine two Genesis NFT characters entering a duel.
One has high Energy but lower Will. The other has a different combination of stats.
Normally, a game would need to access those values openly to calculate the outcome.
With FHE, the game could process the encrypted stats, calculate the result and determine a winner without revealing the actual attributes to either player.
Your opponent doesn’t need to know your stats for those stats to matter.
That’s a different relationship between ownership, information and gameplay.
And gaming is only the beginning of the idea.
Fungo’s roadmap has three stages:
1. Genesis: establish the first 3,232 encrypted NFTs.
2. Launchpad: allow other collections to launch encrypted NFTs on Ethereum.
3. The Game: build a game around Genesis NFTs and their hidden traits.
This is important because it shows Fungo isn’t positioning encrypted NFTs as a one-off collectible experiment.
It’s trying to build infrastructure around them.
Other potential applications of this kind of technology include private auctions, games with hidden information and applications where users need to prove or use something without exposing the underlying data.
But there’s a distinction worth making.
FHE doesn’t make the entire blockchain invisible. NFT ownership and transfers remain public. Developers also have to decide what information and results can be revealed.
And Fungo’s game is still on its roadmap, not a released product.

What if nobody could see your bid until the auction ended?
In most public auctions, information can influence how people bid.
You see someone offering more, so you increase yours. Someone else watches the competition and adjusts their strategy.
Before long, you’re not just bidding for the item. You’re reacting to everyone else’s decisions.
But what happens when nobody can see what anyone else is offering?
That’s the idea behind a sealed-bid auction, and @FungoLabs is bringing it into its encrypted NFT ecosystem.
How does Fungo Launchpad approach this?
Fungo uses Zama’s Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) to keep bids encrypted while an auction is open.
That means other participants cannot inspect your bid and use it to adjust theirs.
Your bid remains private until the auction closes.
But the interesting part isn’t just hiding the bids. It’s how the final price is determined.
One clearing price for every winner.
Let’s use a simple example.
Imagine there are only 3 NFTs available, and four people submit bids:
A bids 3,000 cZAMA.
B bids 1,500 cZAMA.
C bids 1,000 cZAMA.
D bids 500 cZAMA.
The three highest bids win.
But instead of each winner paying their individual bid, everyone pays the lowest winning bid: 1,000 cZAMA.
So:
A pays 1,000 and gets 2,000 back.
B pays 1,000 and gets 500 back.
C pays 1,000.
D receives no NFT and gets their bid amount back.
That’s a uniform clearing price.
The point is that bidding higher doesn’t automatically mean paying more than everyone else.
There are a few details worth knowing.
For Fungo Genesis, the public auction is planned for 2,500 NFTs, with bids submitted in cZAMA.
Participants choose their bid price and quantity. Both remain encrypted while bidding is open.
At the clearing price, available NFTs are shared proportionally among bids at that exact price.
Also, bids are binding and cannot be withdrawn, and the small encrypted-bidding fee is non-refundable.
So understanding the rules before participating matters.
Why does this matter beyond one NFT sale?
Fungo isn’t only using FHE to keep NFT artwork and attributes private.
It’s exploring how the same technology can change the way digital assets are distributed.
A launchpad where bids remain hidden, NFTs are minted sealed, and creators can retain control over their contracts and wallets introduces a different approach to launching collections.
The bigger idea is that privacy can influence more than what people see after an NFT is minted.
It can also change how people compete to acquire one.
That’s what makes Fungo Launchpad worth watching.

think about your exchange history, financial records and information stored on websites.
there’s a lot happening behind what @primus_labs is building.
in this thread, we’ll look at:
→ how zkTLS verifies offchain data.
→ how FHE protects sensitive information during computation.
→ how Web2 data can become useful in Web3.
→ why this matters for institutional finance.
let’s break it down. 🧵
public blockchains offer transparency, but not every financial activity should be visible to everyone.
think about banks, funds and financial institutions handling sensitive customer information.
they want the benefits of onchain infrastructure, but exposing their entire financial operations isn’t exactly an option.
so how do we bring institutional finance onchain without sacrificing confidentiality?
this is where @primus_labs comes into the picture.

this is one of the things i wanted to explore with @MojoAI_HQ.
let’s talk about it. 🧵

An NFT changing wallets sounds simple: the seller transfers it, the buyer receives it, and ownership changes.
But what happens to the private information inside that NFT?
This is one of the details that makes @FungoLabs Genesis interesting.
To understand it, you need to look at how the NFT is structured.
Every Fungo Genesis NFT has two layers: The Look and The Essence.
They serve different purposes, and more importantly, they follow different privacy rules.
1. The Look
The Look is the visual artwork associated with the NFT.
When minted, it is sealed from public view, but the holder can still view it privately.
The owner has a choice: keep the artwork private or publish it for everyone to see.
There is one catch. Publishing is permanent. Once the artwork becomes public, you cannot reverse that decision.
2. The Essence
This is where things get more interesting.
The Essence contains the NFT’s class, four stats and an element.
These aren’t ordinary public NFT traits. They are encoded into a single 64-bit value, made up of eight bytes:
1 byte for the class
4 bytes for the stats
1 byte for the element
2 reserved bytes
The Essence remains encrypted onchain. It cannot be publicly revealed, even by the team.
The current holder can privately view its contents, but the underlying information stays encrypted.
So, unlike the Look, there is no public reveal option for the Essence.
But what happens when you sell one?
This is another important part of Fungo’s design.
When you transfer your NFT, your access to its private contents ends within the same transaction.
The buyer doesn’t immediately gain access, though.
According to Fungo, the new owner waits for 96 Ethereum blocks, approximately 19 minutes, then submits a small activation transaction to access the NFT’s contents.
In simple terms, the private access moves with ownership. The seller loses access, and the new holder gets to view what’s inside after the handover process.
Why does this matter?
Because Fungo isn’t simply hiding NFT artwork from public view.
It’s building a system where the asset can carry private information, restrict who can access it, and still remain transferable on a public blockchain.
And that creates an interesting possibility for what comes next.
Imagine owning a character whose stats are known to you, but not to your opponent. Those stats could still be used in a game without exposing their actual values.
That’s the difference between an NFT that merely stores information and one designed to use private information.
You can explore the mechanics yourself on Fungo Labs:
fungolabs.org/
Have you ever played poker?
One interesting thing about the game is that everyone makes decisions without knowing exactly what the other players are holding.
Your cards matter, their cards matter. But revealing everything before the game ends would defeat the purpose.
Still, the game needs a way to determine the winner.
What if smart contracts could work with that same kind of hidden information?
That’s what Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) makes possible.
On public blockchains, transparency is the default. Transactions and much of the data associated with digital assets can be inspected publicly.
That’s useful for verification, but it creates a challenge when applications need private information.
Imagine an NFT game where your character has attributes that determine its abilities. If those stats are publicly readable, other players can inspect them before a match and gain an advantage.
You could encrypt the stats, but how would a smart contract calculate with information it cannot read?
Normally, the data would need to be decrypted before processing, exposing the very information you wanted to protect.
FHE changes that.
It allows computations to happen directly on encrypted data without first revealing the underlying information.
For example, a system can add encrypted versions of 7 and 5 and produce an encrypted result representing 12, without seeing the original numbers.
This is the technology @FungoLabs is exploring through @zama FHEVM on Ethereum.
One of its core products is the Fungo Genesis NFT, which has two distinct parts:
1. The Look
This is the visual artwork. It starts encrypted, allowing the holder to view it privately. The holder can choose to publish it publicly, but that decision is permanent.
2. The Essence
This contains the NFT’s hidden attributes: its class, four stats and an element, encoded into a 64-bit value.
Even when the artwork is made public, these attributes remain encrypted. The holder can privately access them without exposing them to everyone else.
But why go through all this?
Because these attributes are designed to do more than sit inside an NFT.
Imagine two characters competing in a game. Their battle power might depend on stats such as Energy and Will.
With FHE, a game could calculate using those encrypted attributes without revealing the actual values to other players.
The application can use the information without everyone needing to see it.
One important distinction: Fungo isn’t making the entire NFT invisible. Its existence and ownership remain verifiable onchain. The privacy is focused on the information contained inside the asset.
That’s what makes this interesting.
An NFT could hold information that stays private but still plays an active role in how an application works.
If you want to explore this approach to onchain privacy, take a look at Fungo Labs and its Genesis NFT.
