the part of @FungoLabs i'm watching isn't just the Genesis collection. it's what they're planning to build around it. the roadmap starts with 3,232 Genesis NFTs, then moves toward a launchpad where other teams can create their own encrypted NFT collections, followed by a game built around the Genesis NFTs and their hidden traits. the project has also announced plans to allocate 20% of launchpad revenue to a pool shared equally across the 3,232 Genesis NFTs. it says holders would be able to claim their share in ETH, $ZAMA and tokens from collections launched on the platform. the project has also announced a token allocation for Genesis holders from future launchpad collections. those are announced plans and proposed holder benefits, not guaranteed returns. the launchpad still needs projects, and the ecosystem needs actual adoption. for me, that's the real question. can Fungo make encrypted NFTs useful enough that other builders want to use the technology? because a clever concept gets attention. building something people actually use is what makes it matter.

NFT auctions usually turn into a game of watching everyone else. someone posts their bid, someone else tries to outbid them and suddenly people are changing their plans because they saw what the crowd is doing 😭 @FungoLabs is taking a different approach for its Genesis public sale. the announced system uses encrypted bids through Zama's FHE technology. bidders choose their price and quantity, but those details remain encrypted while bidding is open. once the auction closes, bids are ranked from highest to lowest. the lowest successful bid that fills the available supply sets one final price for all winners. bids below that price receive their funds back, while winning bidders pay the same final price, with any excess refunded. important detail: bids are binding and the small encrypted-bidding fee isn't refundable. the sale is announced for November 5, with 2,500 NFTs allocated to the public sale. it's an interesting experiment in private bidding, but anyone considering participating should understand the rules and risks first.

imagine minting an NFT and not having the entire timeline inspect your traits the second it lands in your wallet 💀 that's the idea behind @FungoLabs Genesis NFTs. every NFT starts sealed. the holder can view the artwork privately and decide whether to publish it publicly. but the more interesting part is the essence behind each NFT. its class, four stats and element stay encrypted onchain. even the project team can't simply reveal those values for everyone. there's a catch, though: ownership itself is still public and once you publish the artwork, that decision can't be reversed. so this isn't about making your wallet invisible. it's about giving the contents of an NFT a layer of privacy that regular collections don't offer. NFTs keeping secrets instead of exposing every trait from day one? that's a different concept.

most NFTs are basically glass boxes. you can see the art, check every trait, figure out the rarity and inspect everything before you even think about buying one. @FungoLabs is trying to change that. it's building encrypted NFTs on Ethereum using @zama's FHE technology. you know the interesting part? smart contracts can compute on encrypted data without needing to decrypt it first. so the information doesn't have to become public just because it's being used onchain. ownership stays verifiable, but the contents don't have to be an open book. obviously, the tech still needs to prove itself through real use cases. but privacy on Ethereum is an interesting problem to solve and FungoLabs could be taking a meaningful step toward making onchain privacy more practical.
