Zonal pricing is reserved to WM & was ruled out in 2025 due to concerns relating to regional price inequalities, investment uncertainty, higher financing costs. A Scots public energy company could operate as a supplier, but cannot control wholesale prices or guarantee lower bills

Scotland could supply all households with lowest energy costs in world … @HouseofCommons won’t allow it

Swinney and Dave Doogan going on about energy costs in Scotland. Quite right, but where's the beef. Just gripes.
Where's the noise for zonal pricing. Where's the case for a Scots publicly owned power company. When are they going to put their heads above the parapet and fight?

England need a devolved parliament & a controlled spending through a block grant just like NI, Sco & Wales - England currently has unlimited spending & an incompetent duopoly parties that obsess on short termism, warmongering & establishment extravagance

I bet Russell Brand wishes he was in the Epstein files now as this seems to grant you immunity from prosecution

Shocking Scotland! Sorry this was in Birmingham two nights ago. STV having to admit Holyrood doesn’t have the power to impose a ban on private sales of fireworks briefly, and at the very end of their ‘sensational’ Scottish coverage. Why are they always hoping for the worst?

If the Union is voluntary, what is the route for leaving it?
If the answer is “only when Westminster agrees”, then the Union begins to look less like a partnership of consent and more like a constitutional arrangement controlled by one side

Calling all Scots and Irish: now that Andy is planning to hand out reparations, it’s time we demanded ours for the Highland Clearances too.
History cannot be selective. I’ll take mine in land, thanks. We’ve been cleared out once already. A modest castle will do. I’m trying to be reasonable.

I do not understand this:
If Russell Brand can be correctly convicted, why can literally nobody from the Epstein files be convicted.

BBC Scotland has been forced to issue yet another correction relating to the SNP after falsely claiming John Swinney had announced plans to take buses into public ownership. How many more 'mistakes' like this are to be allowed before an inquiry is held into the station?

Gent in purple, "State pensioners who have contributed their whole lives are on a lot less than minimum wage"
"I'm very lucky to have a small German pension, and believe me, it's a lot more than what we pay in this country"
"Most of western Europe their pensions are much higher than the state pension in this country"
"I'm lucky I get a pension from the military"
"But people on the basic state pension, I reall feel sorry for them"
My view:
The full new State Pension is roughly £12,548 a year.
Someone working 37.5 hours a week on the £12.71 minimum wage earns about £24,785 before tax.
That puts the full new State Pension at barely half a full-time minimum-wage salary.
Government figures show that 12% of pensioner families received their income entirely from the State Pension and other state benefits in 2024/25.
That same year, around 1.7 million pensioners — one in seven — were living in relative poverty after housing costs.
A better pension means being able to heat your home, eat properly and see friends without calculating what you’ll have to go without afterwards.
It also means money spent in the communities where pensioners live.
After a lifetime of working, caring and contributing, financial security should be something people can expect.

Its so feck embarrassing when we have Scots wanting London rule. The world must laugh at us . We had a chance to vote YES and blew it. Or did we? We wont shut up just because Unionists say so. Sick of being called British?, any proud Scot would be.#independence
