Jehovah's Witnesses ease ban on blood treatments saying transfusions of blood-derived products now a 'matter of personal conscience'
There have been several high profile cases over the past 15 years where courts have granted doctors permission to override a religious refusal to accept blood, usually in cases where parents have refused to allow their children to receive potentially life-saving treatments.
Dominic Wilkinson, a professor of medical ethics at Oxford University, told The Times: 'Parents of children have often felt very torn between what they were hearing about the risk to their child and the teaching of their faith.
'And having to choose between those was a massive dilemma for some families and led to court cases on a number of occasions.
Professor Wilkinson said the refusal of blood treatments had 'very real consequences'.
The AJWRB, a campaign group that had been calling for change, estimates that there are about 1,200 excess deaths each year linked to the refusal of blood treatments.

自衛隊員はいざ大災害が起きれば、真っ先に危険地帯に入って人命救助に当たる。
東日本大災害の時は土砂に埋もれたご遺体に傷が付かないようにと、吹雪の中で重機やスコップを使わずに手で瓦礫を取り除き、見つかると両手を合わせてから丁寧に回収作業をした。
自衛隊員は過去1874人の殉職者を出しているが、いずれも訓練中･移動中の事故が多数を占める。
大雪や台風や豪雨の時にこそ遭難が起きるので、悪天候での厳しい訓練を積んでいる証だ。
そういう自衛官を愚弄する国会議員やサヨクを許してはならないと思う。

We uncovered this(means info inside book for elders)with the help of present Elders, and two days later of this action, our Prime Minister KISHIDA mentioned JW issues in the Diet. I personally understand that GB's exceptional behavior regarding Japanese JWs is a sign of their deep impatience.
For example, this so-called STUDY by an organization thought to be related to JW writes that 6.9% of Japanese people have no education, but the actual high school enrollment rate in Japan is about 97%, and maybe 99.9% of people have received some kind of formal education. The premise that about 8 million Japanese are uneducated is absolutely absurd.
I don’t know the details though being a native speaker of Japanese language, I guess (just guess) the original document was written in English and someone (supposed to be Bethel people) translated it in Japanese which is reason why there are some ridiculous points inside it.
