Too little MECOM causes bone marrow failure, too much -> AML, Well put! @RichardVoit
Too little MECOM causes bone marrow failure, too much -> AML. We wondered why. Turns out that MECOM (and friends) finely tunes the expression of an essential HSC transcriptional network that gets hijacked in leukemia. Proud of our whole team: nature.com/articles/s41590-0…

Supp Fig 3. shows an 8 sample (some human, some mouse, some mixed) multiplexed experiment. The color gradients hint at an exciting finding, namely that tag # is a proxy for cell size, thus opening up the possibility of a new mode of single-cell measurement along w/ scRNA-Seq.

Our new FateID method predicts lineage probabilities in stem cells from subtle transcriptome modulations - going beyond clustering! It enabled the discovery of a common progenitor population of B cells and pDCs! teapaw.org/naturemethods/status/9…
FateID uses #singlecell expression data to find early fate biases in multipotent progenitors. Also featuring robotic, miniaturized mCEL-seq2 and improved clustering using RaceID3 bit.ly/2qhHOpp

Finally getting caught up on paper reading. The human brain organoid folding study (with help from @jacob_hanna) is incredible. The supplemental video alone is worth a watch (or five...or ten). Look at that interkinetic nuclear migration!

Wow, this is a new low: Just got rejected from biorxiv... @cshperspectives We wrote a review related to a paper we just published and were hoping to have it out with the paper... but apparently @biorxivpreprint doesn’t publish reviews... Why?!? What to do? Post on our lab site??
