30 things before / after a site launch. Different order than the usual "meta + sitemap + alt" list.
Claude is fine for the first two buckets. The third one is still human work after go-live.
What I still do after launch (the +10):
21 Search Console property verify
22 Indexing / URL inspection on a sample
23 Canonicals check
24 Redirect map old → new
25 H1 / title match the actual search intent
26 Internal links to money pages
27 Schema only where the markup is true
28 Crawl-error triage
29 Core pages in the sitemap only
30 "Who is this for" above the fold
That last block is where retainers usually start.
Checked OpenAI's bot docs, then two public robots.txt files.
OAI-SearchBot and GPTBot are separate. One is search/citations. One is training.
cnn.com stacks both under one Disallow: /. "Block AI" on that file also blocks ChatGPT Search.
techcrunch.com blocks GPTBot only. SearchBot is not listed.
If you meant training off, keep SearchBot out of the same block. Otherwise citation death is silent.
