NEWS: Say hello to Lethal Kiss, a queer dark academia horror romance out in 2026 from @TorNightfire!! It's all about a draugr and a mortal, both assistant professors, tangled up in mxrder on their prestigious university campus 🥰 I'm so excited to bring Marcella and Lacie to you!
Taylor Grothe's LETHAL KISS, a queer dark academia horror romance where two Nordic Studies assistant professors—a draugr whose eternal hunger for blood is only matched by her craving for knowledge and the human who sees her as a rival for tenure-are forced to team up to uncover the truth behind a slew of missing people at their college, pitched as Jennifer's Body meets Ninth House, to Troix Jackson at Nightfire, in a significant deal, at auction, in a two-book deal, for publication in fall 2026, by Victoria Marini at High Line Literary Collective (world).

Realized I didn’t upload the full wrap!
Hollow’s full cover, the back of which reads: Cassie Davis has never felt normal anywhere. After an autism diagnosis, she moves back to her hometown, and tensions rise with her old friends. On a backpacking trip to celebrate her homecoming, Cassie wakes to an abandoned campsite and discovers an off-the-grid compound called the Roost. Here she finds an enigmatic boy named Kaleb who makes Cassie feel, for the first time, as if she truly belongs. But at what price?

It’s taken a long time for me to settle on what to say about the LibGen database and theft of books for AI. But I think I’m there now. I spent decades of my life unready to begin. I spent late nights, hunched over sleeping infants, squinting to read in low light.

But the point of art, engaging and grappling and learning and hating and loving and fighting for every single clause, is its difficulty. Its difficulty is its humanity. You will never produce great works by stealing our work. You will regurgitate, make beige and bland, normalize.

Write afraid. Write terrified. Write unknowing and gangly as a colt. Write confused and lost confounded. Learn that way, reading for aspiration’s sake. Get to the end and know you’ve grown and you’ve done it without stealing a single thing. It will feel better like triumph.
