13 seasons of Red vs Blue teaching us that tribalism and team loyalty are the actual problem, and we’re out here reducing every choice to red vs blue again. maybe the real question isn’t which button—it’s why we need buttons at all

Disqualifying DZ Academy for recording their own POV in Discord with comms, which is standard practice, simply shows an extreme lack of judgement. I have concerns about the consistency of admin decisions and their impact on stages and qualifications. A few examples from this stage from our side alone. Vs 5 Fears: We requested a replay due to a drone bug but were told to play on. After the round, I tried to explain the issue and offer our internal VOD, but couldn't get the admins to review it. "On the stream it looks like he just isn't moving it." Vs WC: WC requested a replay over a gadget issue which, in reality, was user error. They were allowed to present their internal VOD, and the replay was granted. The situations weren't identical, but the difference in how evidence was handled raises questions. Vs 4fun: A round was replayed after three of our players lost power more than a minute into the round, while we were already 4v5. The replay decision had a direct impact on the round's outcome, as we had no realistic chance of winning when Shaun would have died half a second after the power loss. We also almost had to use an emergency sub because of a bug following a patch on match day that forced a computer restart, rather than rescheduling. Admins were already aware of the bug. I don't know how many times this stage we also saw 4v5 games continue to be played. Only saving was that Shaun was in the team house and had a spare computer. These aren't small decisions. Replay rulings, technical issues and forced substitutions affect results, standings and qualifications. Players dedicate years to competing, and orgs invest significant resources. Admins have a difficult job, but transparency and accountability are essential when their decisions carry this much weight. Competitive integrity is something DZ Academy are being disqualified for breaching. Difficult to respect or understand these decisions when the standards being enforced don't appear to be applied consistently.
Competitive ruling Following an investigation into a match played on October 25th, NA Open Cup league officials determined that Dark Zero Academy breached the rules applicable in regard with eligible participants to the NA Open Cup in Salt Lake City in a manner adversely impacting the integrity of the competition. As a consequence, Dark Zero Academy will be disqualified from the NA Open Cup Finals.

Replying to @WarcraftDevs
@WarcraftDevs @Warcraft @WatcherDev I REALLY want to see Retail try a raid where the gimmick is that every boss after the first inherits the previous bosses' CORE mechanic. Not the entire fight. Just the mechanic the raid taught you, carried forward and remixed.

It also gives Normal/Heroic/Mythic a really obvious scaling path. Normal teaches the rules. Heroic overlaps them harder. Mythic changes interactions or adds exceptions to rules you thought you understood. Same raid language, increasingly evil grammar.

I don't think Retail has ever really committed to a whole raid built around cumulative mechanical literacy like this. I'd LOVE to see @WarcraftDevs try it once. Make the raid itself a curriculum, then make the final boss the exam.

I think the publisher deal is WAY more insane than the Steam cut. Steam took ~$127K across the entire platform. The publisher took ~$115K for THREE regions. You basically signed away another Steam-sized cut of your revenue for China, Korea and Japan alone.
Brutal reality of making 500K on Steam as a game dev

That’s why I don’t look at this and go “Steam is the problem.” I look at it and go “how did you agree to THAT publishing split?” Losing almost as much to one regional publisher as you did to Steam across the entire platform is brutal.

Some of the Deadlock Mods that have come to other games are honestly amazing. Shiv has came to RoR2 as well, and it’s amazing how much work they put in to making it work. I cannot wait for other characters and even items to get ported over #Deadlock #riskofrain2
Deadlock meets Darkest Dungeon Member of our community made a mod to Darkest Dungeon to bring Deadlock’s Curiosity Shop items as equippable trinkets - The Cursed Apple Gifts. What’s inside: • 50+ new trinkets • A brand-new rarity: Legendary • Unique trinket mechanics never used before • The Evolution mechanic for trinkets Trinket art & design by @SadNicoleArt The mod took about 50 days of work, and it’s Bog’s first project at this scale. He’s looking for feedback on balance, ideas for new trinkets, and artists or translators who want to help. Drop by the Workshop discussions! steamcommunity.com/sharedfil… #deadlock #DarkestDungeon
