remembering when #sonyejin literally invested 1 billion KRW of her own money to save the last princess when offered the role of princess deokhye in the last princess, son yejin knew the heavy emotional weight she had to carry. princess deokhye was not just a fictional character, but a real life tragic figure in korean history who was exiled to japan. to convey her grief authentically, ye jin willingly set aside her glamorous image to portray a depressed, aging, and heartbroken woman her dedication went far beyond her performance on set. when the production faced a severe budget shortfall that threatened to compromise the film quality, ye jin made a bold move. she injected 1 billion KRW or around 800 thousand USD of her own money into the project, ensuring that the historical story could be told without cutting corners what makes her courage even more striking is that she was once a deeply shy and introverted child. in past interviews, yejin recalled her childhood and admitted that acting became the ultimate outlet for her to express bottled up emotions, helping her break out of her quiet shell and step into complex roles without fear her willingness to step out of her rom com comfort zone paid off immensely. her performance in the last princess brought home multiple best actress awards, proving that her career was built on sheer professionalism, integrity, and a genuine love for storytelling #손예진 #덕혜옹주
