People are underestimating what will happen to software as a result of AI.
Most are focused on how it'll make creating software incrementally easier, faster, cheaper. Few are discussing just how vast the universe of software becomes when this happens.
We will have 100x more software (at a minimum!) as a result of AI. There will be a gigantic long tail of every type of application you could ever imagine. Most will have few users, if any. But a lot of it will be super niche and customized to very specific use cases. Some huge hits will break out.
People who make software (without ever actually knowing how to code) will emerge as "creators". Most of these people will be dismissed by purists for not making "real software". And some of these people will become very wealthy.
And an entire ecosystem will spring up around it. Marketplaces, tools, entertainment, media, etc.
The same thing that has happened to every other form of media is about to happen to software. It'll look like a joke at first. But then it will be far too big to ignore.

A user interface is like a joke. If you have to explain it, it’s not that good.

- Engineer: I invented this new thing. I call it a ballpen 🖊️
- TwitterSphere: OMG, people could write horrible things with it, like misinformation, propaganda, hate speech. Ban it now!
- Writing Doomers: imagine if everyone can get a ballpen. This could destroy society. There should be a law against using ballpen to write hate speech. regulate ballpens now!
- Pencil industry mogul: yeah, ballpens are very dangerous. Unlike pencil writing which is erasable, ballpen writing stays forever. Government should require a license for pen manufacturers.

What actually is product-market fit?
On the surface, it means that you’ve built a product that a market (ie people) want.
If one person wants your product, you have PMF with that one person. Nice!
But that’s just the beginning.
For True PMF, you need to achieve 3 things:

Why are vampires such bad PMs?
...
Because they avoid talking to stake holders.

Obvious realization:
Content that starts as video, can be downgraded to audio (in your pocket or as podcast), which can be converted to text (via transcription or blog). But content can't flow in other direction.
Therefore, to max audience for any content, start with video.

Startups with high quality strategic planning operate like a car using google maps to reach a destination v/s overconfident driver getting lost all the time on the way.
Many startups drive without a good strategy and enjoy output over outcomes and waste time and fuel.

Got it Elon. I'll take it from here.
People of Earth,
Elon has returned back to Alpha Centauri. Your planet has regrettably been scheduled for demolition. The process will take slightly less than two of your Earth days.
Thank you.
PS: Don't panic.

I was at Amzn in 2000 when the internet bubble popped. Capital markets dried up & we were burning $1B/yr. Our biggest expense was datacenter -> expensive Sun servers. We spent a year ripping out Sun & replacing with HP/Linux, which formed the foundation for AWS. The backstory:

I just realized that I may follow more professors at @GeorgeMasonU than any other university. There is a clearly something special going on there. It's like a Los Alamos of independent-mindedness.
