After a retopo, we threw the mesh into Substance Painter for some texturing.

And with a few tweaks to the rig's weight painting the new character was ready to go, all animations working as intended. But the new mesh and texture was only half the battle--we needed some new and fancy shaders...

Implementing the colors meant packing the models' color regions (UV shells) into a color grid that we could then color shift in the shader.
