Speaking about their perceived spiritual significance, the prophet said, “The best wife and the best husband you can ever marry is a man with Ogbanje, a woman with Ogbanje. Once you provoke an Ogbanje, he or she will frustrate your destiny. Ogbanje are destiny helpers. God created them in different forms.” He compared their alleged extraordinary abilities to those of Samson in the Bible, citing his strength and victories over his enemies. “Do you know that Samson is an Ogbanje?
