Nigerian browser game, Lagos Life, has attracted more than seven million players in less than two weeks of its October 1 launch, as its creator, Shalom Rayhamen, prepares to expand the platform by allowing independent developers to integrate their games into its virtual world.

Lighthouse Capital, an operator-led private equity firm, is seeking to raise $50 million to invest in high-growth mid-market businesses across South Africa and Kenya, with plans to combine financial investment with hands-on operational support to accelerate expansion.
Founded in 2025, the firm is targeting a first close before the end of 2026, with individual investments ranging from $5 million to $10 million across manufacturing, financial technology (fintech), agribusiness and technology.
The fund will target businesses with growth potential that require more than capital to scale, including stronger management systems, improved operational efficiency and better governance.
“Many high-potential businesses require more than capital to reach their next stage of growth,” said Nico Christoforou, Lighthouse Capital’s general partner and chief investment officer.
Headquartered across Johannesburg and Nairobi, Lighthouse Capital plans to deploy its proposed $50 million fund into selected mid-market businesses operating in four sectors considered central to commercial expansion across manufacturing, fintech, agribusiness and technology.
Its investment strategy will focus on businesses with established foundations and the potential to scale their operations, rather than companies requiring funding alone to get started.

Mobility fintech company @moove_io is set to end its operations in Nigeria, with the company reportedly transferring eligible vehicles worth approximately N35 billion to customers who currently operate them at no cost. The marks a dramatic end to the vehicle-financing model that helped establish the company in Lagos.
According to a report by Nairametrics, Moove said customers would assume full ownership of eligible vehicles from October 1, 2026, without further payment to the company for the vehicles themselves.
The development comes weeks after Uber ended its Nigerian operations on September 2, following 12 years in the country.
Moove, founded in Nigeria by Ladi Delano and Jide Odunsi in 2020 as Uber’s preferred vehicle supply partner, built its early business around financing vehicles for ride-hailing drivers and helping them transition from drivers to car owners.
Moove’s Nigerian business was built around a relatively simple idea, and that’s to help people who wanted to become ride-hailing drivers but could not afford to purchase vehicles upfront.
Through its Drive-to-Own model, the company supplied vehicles to eligible drivers, who then used them on ride-hailing platforms such as Uber while making repayments from their earnings.

Nigerian fintech startup Bujeti has launched Brain, an agentic artificial intelligence platform designed to help businesses automate routine financial management tasks and operate more efficiently.
The platform, which became publicly available on September 30 following a two-week private beta, introduces four AI-powered “teammates” that can handle financial documentation, debt collection, risk monitoring and employee finance enquiries.
Bujeti, founded by Cossi Achille Arouko and Samy Chiba, says Brain is built directly on the financial infrastructure it has developed over the past three years, allowing the AI system to work with a company’s existing accounts, budgets, vendors, contracts and transactions.
“Most AI finance tools sit beside the ledger and have to be fed data,” Arouko said. “Bujeti spent three years building the ledger first, so Brain reads across every account, budget, vendor, contract and transaction already inside it.”
Bujeti is a Nigerian financial technology company focused on helping businesses manage their finances from a single digital platform.
Its services include corporate cards with real-time spending controls, automated vendor payments with multi-level approvals, budgeting, invoicing, business accounts, tax management, payroll and a mobile application.

Saudi Arabia is set to invest $267 million (SAR 1 billion) in a major workforce housing initiative designed to provide accommodation for up to 50,000 workers across six of the Kingdom’s major cities.
The fund was launched through a partnership between Mnzil, a technology-enabled workforce housing platform; The Development Group (TDG), a real estate development company; and Capital Partners, a Saudi-based Shariah-compliant asset management firm.
The initiative comes as the Kingdom’s economic transformation under Vision 2030 continues to drive demand for workers in construction, logistics, industry, tourism and other labor-intensive sectors.
The partners said the fund would develop purpose-built housing compounds close to major employment centres, with Mnzil describing the initiative as an opportunity to move beyond managing third-party accommodation and participate directly in developing housing designed around workers’ everyday needs.
The $267 million fund brings together three companies with complementary responsibilities across the development, financing and management of workforce housing.
The partnership is designed to create purpose-built residential compounds in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Khobar, Makkah and Madinah, with locations selected largely according to their proximity to major employment centres.
