Thrilled to announce Prof. Scott J. Miller @MillerGroupYale as the Plenary Speaker at WIPOS 2023 (wipos.org, December 18-21, 2023) in Honolulu, HI. Register at signup.rice.edu/WIPOS2023/ to hear 42 speakers, present posters, network with organic chemists and have fun!
There will be 42 speakers and also a continuous poster session associated with this symposium. One day will be dedicated to lectures from 12 young investigators (i.e. ≤10 years from starting their independent careers, including 11 pre-tenure faculty members). The remaining 3 days will feature a combined 30 speakers from both academia and industry. WIPOS 2023 will be held at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort in Honolulu, Hawaii. The symposium attendance will be limited to a total of 150 participants.

A 2nd paper was accepted in @angew_chem on an enantiopure synthesis that was shorter than one just published there. Every other submission ended in desk or ultimate rejection. Attempts to engage two female ACIE editors at ORCHEM 2022 in a productive discussion were unsuccessful.

I had spoken out about my lab’s experience back then and often get asked. We had our first @angew_chem article ever accepted last year. I had asked my male collaborator to submit it in his name to increase its chances - the first 4 authors are my group members. It got accepted.
