Can the French riots teach us how to finally tax the rich? They already had socialist presidents and appear to have reached the limits of successful taxation. But spending cuts will lower social services. Maybe we should be more like Denmark raising retirement age to 70.

The big problem in American politics is that voters expect the government to solve their problems. Our country was founded on the principle that the people should be left alone to solve their own problems. When government is empowered to solve problems, it creates them instead.

The money counter kept jamming.
Upon investigation, I discovered some absolute manic had... bedazzled... three separate one dollar notes by lightly gluing a fake decorative jewel above the portraits.
This is probably the most insane human behavior I have ever seen.

More billionaires is associated with lower poverty. Even communist-party-run China has billionaires now. Since opening their economy in 1980 to trade, markets, private companies, & even stock markets, extreme poverty in China collapsed. But inequality rose. What do y'all think?
1. More billionaires are associated with less poverty.
2. Increasing billionaires per capita by ten fold lowers poverty by 43 percentage points.
3. Sweden has more billionaires per 10M people than the U.S. (34 vs 30)
4. Correlation is fairly strong (R-squared of 0.6 for two variable cross-section data)
4. Since the graph is only a correlation, what do you think is the cause?
