The blame game between Elon Musk and the White House is going into the next round. And all what the Ukrainian president did is just name it.
Using Starlink respectively Starshield for political games is a political and economic own goal of epic proportions.
Ukrainians were literally one of the few countries trying to help the USA in the Middle East when Trump launched his totally botched operation in Iran, despite being short on ammunition and in the middle of existential war for their own survival. The repost illustrates that, vividly.
Trump not only never showed gratitude for this, but also denigrated them, claiming they weren’t required and even verbally rebuffed their help.
The Arab states didn’t agree and welcomed their Ukrainian friends, who tried to protect oil and gas facilities across the Middle East from Iranian Shahed, which were augmented by Russian technology and experience in the Ukraine war.
Russians have all reasons for having high energy prices. It literally fuels their war machine and gives them more breathing space, which they use not only to murder toddlers in strollers, but also US servicemen in the Middle East, through their Iranian allies.
Those are the facts.
The oil prices only know one way and this is up. They have climbed continuously in October. Trump’s announcement regarding the minuscule Russian promise has not even dented that, predictably. The Strait of Hormuz is severely disrupted and the Iranian regime plays Trump like a fiddle.
Expect Thanksgiving and Christmas to be an expensive period.
This Russian Su-30SM crashed in the Kaliningrad region. The fact that it happened next to a Russian graveyard is noteworthy. Maybe an overflight for a fallen comrade.
President Zelenskyy stated that the US refused to share intel regarding ballistic missile strikes for three days.
Like I said, it has zero to do with oil prices.
Representative Gregory W. Meeks, Ranking Member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, issued the following statement after the Trump administration announced it would waive sanctions on Russia:
"Donald Trump has spent years chasing the Nobel Peace Prize. After weeks of pro-Putin policy and this shameful waiver, he deserves a different honor: the Neville Chamberlain Appeasement Award."
The Ukrainian operation against Saint Petersburg, Russia, has been the largest in this war against this Russian city. Three major targets were hit during this operation:
- The local oil terminal respectively the oil storage units
- The VKontakte Datacenter
- The local Ozon logistics hub
It needs to be paraphrased that neither Starlink nor Starshield can be used for this operation by the Ukrainian military, since those services have always been been off limits for Ukrainian forces. Only Ukrainian end products are used.
Pictures released by TG channel "Dnipro Osint" show a gaping hole in the datacenter of VKontakte (Russian Facebook) near Saint Petersburg in Russia.
Ukrainian forces struck a major “Ozon” warehouse in Saint Petersburg, Russia. The logistics hub is completely on fire.
Also, energy infrastructure supplying a Russian datacenter including VKontakte (Russian Facebook) in Saint Petersburg, Russia, was also targeted. In this footage a transformer was hit.
There is a major attack ongoing against targets in the Saint Petersburg area in Russia. Among several targets this oil storage has been struck.
The oil prices are currently escalating. This evening they jumped by almost 4% in a matter of minutes and it is no surprise. The Iranian regime is currently fully enjoying their freedom to strike ships in the Strait of Hormuz while feeling safe that Ukraine is getting blamed for it.
Gaslighting, deflecting and lying is not going to push down our energy prices. The Iran war is a mess and it will get worse. Far worse.
Poland’s Foreign Minister Sikorski:
“The USA haven’t spent a single cent on Ukraine since January 2025, so more than 1.5 years. We in Europe are doing it.”
Elon Musk says it was the DoD and ultimately Trump who was curtailing Starlink respectively Starshield. Now, Trump is blaming Elon Musk.
The lack of courage owning this deeply unpopular and stupid decision is really remarkable.
President Zelenskyy offered Trump an alternative in destroying Russian refineries. Instead, he offered that Starlink is extended to Russia and ballistic launchers will be attack. This has not only be ignored, but shortly later Starlink respectively Starshield in Ukraine has been curtailed.
It is so obvious that it has nothing to do with refineries. Trump is protecting Putin, no matter what.
The Telegraph obtained information that it was Elon Musk’s idea to reduce the maximum speed of Starlink-controlled (interceptor-) drones in Ukraine, then got cold feet that this might backfire on Starlink in the European market and then finally blamed Trump for this episode.
