🔯||Not disagreeing with you. I would say Tachibana's intent here is moreso geared toward showing just how much Kurumi is in LOVE with Shido. As opposed to propping up Wescott. In fact, Ellen already blatantly told Shido that they could kill him at any time they wanted. (+)
