56 individuals in the UK have as much wealth as the poorest 27 million (Oxfam)
Yet this man is advocating cutting benefits to fund work support for young people
Utterly monstrous

Most people roughly around 40 or younger have seen living standards get worse for their entire adult lives. Now the ruling class that inflicted that on them is badgering them to take part in World War III and wondering why there's no enthusiasm xitter.cf/SkyNews/status/2110640…

Looks like selling Royal Mail to a Czech billionaire worked out every bit as well as selling our water system to an Australian investment bank and our steel industry to an Indian multinational

Publicly owned Royal Mail delivered letters six days a week. After privatisation, bosses tripled their salaries and cut that to three days a week. Yes, it's our old friend 'the superior efficiency of the private sector'.

The UK is not a country that has borrowed and spent too freely. Had the UK invested at OECD-average levels and G7-average levels over the past three decades, an additional £500 billion of public money and £350 billion of private money would have flowed into the economy, respectively. It is a country that has underinvested for a generation, and is now paying for it through exactly the weak productivity that makes gilt investors nervous in the first place.

This chart published by the Economics Laboratory, shows that the UK social spending is 23% of GDP, covers NHS, social security and support services.
It is a useful rebutal to neoliberals calling for cuts to the NHS, state pension and other benefits.

So all that “sliding” Britain stuff was just to act as a shield because he planned to shut plants because he can’t squeeze enough cash out of them theguardian.com/business/202…
Bought this terrific new book by @ewangibbs “An Injury To All” about the unmaking of the British working class @ARBRadBookfair It’s going to become a classic text I’m convinced.
What an inspirational speaker and writer this guy is! Articulate, insightful and to the point. Among the messages tonight: “Don’t wait for government, community leaders or others to save you from resurgent racism: organise from the ground up in your neighbourhoods.”
