Day 2 of Thanksgiving: Salvation by grace through faith, not works I am thankful the salvation God provides is by no merit of my own. It is provided entirely by the finished work of Christ.

Cam Newton and Pastor Philip Anthony Mitchell spark a FIERY debate over whether homosexuals can make it to heaven, as Mitchell claims practicing homosexuals won't inherit God's kingdom without repentance, while insisting believers can struggle with homosexual desires for life without sinning, as long as they never act on them. "If a homosexual repents of their sin, places their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, is filled with the Holy Spirit and turns from their sin, that former homosexual will be able to make it to glory... I cannot force them to be heterosexual if they're struggling with the urge. My job is to teach them the scriptures and help them to live a life of holiness before God. They may have that urge for the rest of their life, but if they don't act on it, they don't sin before God... In the scriptures, there are a list of practices in which God says anybody who indulges in these things will not inherit the kingdom of God….Homosexuality is on that list... Our passageway to glory is not morality. It is salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ, and there are former murderers there and former lustful people there. Anything you can name on this earth that is vile, those people are represented in glory because they have confessed their sins”

Christian, guilt from forgiven past sins does not come from your Savior. When Christ died on Calvary, he paid the penalty for every single one of our failures. This is why in Jesus alone, we can truly find rest.

My Declaration of Faith: I believe that Jesus Christ was crucified for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures: β€œMoreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.” 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 (KJV) I believe that all have sinned and that the sin nature was passed down from Adam, so that we will wrestle with sin until the day we die or until the Lord comes for His church in the rapture. β€œWherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.” Romans 5:12 (KJV) I believe that we are made new creatures in Christ: β€œTherefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV) It is in Christ alone that we are made perfect and sinless in the sight of the Father, not by our own doing, but by His finished work. I do not believe that I can keep the law to perfection; Christ has done this on my behalf. Therefore I rest in Christ alone. I believe what the Scriptures say. I am Sola Scriptura: the Word of God is truth. It is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path, and the Lord will preserve His pure words forever. β€œThy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” Psalm 119:105 (KJV) β€œThe words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.” Psalm 12:6-7 (KJV) This is my confession and my hope. Amen! πŸ™πŸ»

God's grace is far greater than your deepest struggles, Christian. When you fall, do not run away from his presence in shame. Run to your Savior who loves you and intercedes for you at the Father's right hand (Heb. 7:25).

Pray with me October 26, 2026 Heavenly Father, Thank You for Your goodness, Your mercy, and Your faithfulness that never fails. Your Word reminds us that every good and perfect gift comes from You (James 1:17). Forgive us for the times we have focused more on what is missing than on what You have already provided. Lord, teach us to be grateful not only for Your blessings, but for Your presence. Thank You for the prayers You have answered, the doors You have closed, the burdens You have carried, and the grace You have given us when we didn't deserve it. May our gratitude never depend on our circumstances, but always rest in Your unchanging character. Give us hearts that recognize Your hand in every season and lips that continually offer You praise. Above all, thank You for Jesus Christ, the greatest gift we could ever receive. In His mighty name, Amen.
