Texas’ Madison Booker was outstanding in the Longhorns’ preseason matchups against No. 2 UConn and No. 11 UCLA. After recording 21 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists against the Huskies on Monday, Booker followed up with 23 points and 6 rebounds in an 81-64 win over the Bruins today. The Ridgeland native is just 10 days away from beginning her final collegiate season after averaging career highs of (18.9) points, (6.7) rebounds, and (2.2) steals last season while helping lead Texas to its second consecutive Final Four appearance. Her postseason run included a 40-point, 8-rebound, 5-assist performance in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. With Texas losing five of its top six scorers from last season, Booker will be expected to carry an even greater offensive load. Given what she accomplished last season and how well she has played this preseason, a 20-point-per-game senior campaign is certainly within reach. 🪄
