You guys have so much sympathy for criminals. So if a person has 15 different investigations against them, the NPA must wait until all 15 investigations are completed before bringing them in? Are you crazy?
This thing is a fool. No country in the world has ever had economic growth with high interest rates. Why would businesses invest in production when they can park their money in money market accounts and earn risk free high returns?
[THREAD] Speaking at the Italian-South African Chamber of Trade Industries dinner, Governor Lesetja Kganyago underscored that South Africa’s path to breaking out of low economic growth requires institutions across all government to work together and fulfil their mandates. “Economic growth is a team sport,” he said.

I wonder if this went to tender and how much it cost if it did. I am not a web developer but even I can tell this might be a weekend's work 😭. Very poor work man!

Being a prosecutor and failing to comply with a court order is just irresponsible behaviour.

Ungazobheda la we also grew up in crime ridden communities but we didn't turn to crime.
Everyone is talking about how the kids involved in the Eldorado park incident deserve to go to jail, but I don't think many people truly understand what it's like to grow up in an area where crime has become the norm.
Imagine growing up in a community where hearing gunshots is part of everyday life. Where children play in the streets while crime happens around them. Where you're constantly on edge, always alert, never really feeling safe in your own neighbourhood. Imagine what that does to a child's mind when this is all they have ever known.
Some children grow up seeing gang members as role models because that's what they are exposed to. For some, being part of a gang may even become something they aspire to. Not because every child in these communities is destined for that life, but because the environment around them can shape what they see as normal, what they aspire to and what they believe is possible for their future.
I feel like the robbery of the Uber driver has brought to light some of the deeper issues that exist in communities like Westbury and Eldorado Park. We cannot only focus on the crime itself without also asking what is happening in these communities and what is being done to change things.
People deserve to feel safe in their own homes and neighbourhoods. The government, the police, local councillors and the community all have a role to play in combating crime and protecting residents.
But fighting crime cannot only be about arresting people after the damage has been done. What is being done to break the cycle? What resources are available to help children growing up in these areas? Where are the sports facilities, mentorship programmes, counselling services, skills development and opportunities that could help them build a different future?
We need to invest in these communities. We need to give children safe spaces to grow, access to education, psychological support and positive role models. And even those who end up in prison need access to counselling, rehabilitation and education so that they have a chance to rebuild their lives.
This does not excuse crime, and people must be held accountable for their actions. But punishment alone will not address the deeper problems that allow crime to continue from one generation to the next.

Most people don't know that one life can only be insured up to R100k for funeral cover. It does not have to be with the same insurer even. As long as they have the same underwriters.
We don't call women losers enough and we don't hold them accountable for their actions. This is a POPIA violation.

Love Your Street Campaign
Today, we took the Love Your Street campaign brigade to Kliptown, Soweto. We were joined by the team from the City of Johannesburg led by Executive Mayor of CoJ Cllr Dada Morero
The work to clean the streets, clearing illegal dumping sites, cutting grass, clearing illegal dumping sites, and converting unused opening spaces into useful community spaces continued.
Tomorrow, we are going back into Kliptown to continue this work and for community engagements about illegal dumping, improved refuse removal services etc. We have also committed to mobilise an all of government and society approach to the revitalisation of the Kliptown Square - the Kliptown Square is too important to the history, present and future of this country to be allowed to rescind to a state of disrepair.
I am grateful to the community activist Ricardo who became my personal chaperone today whilst reminding me of the need to also support sparks of hope.
Simultaneously, we also rolled-out the Love Your Street Campaign in Gqeberha in partnership with the Nelson Mandela Bay led by Executive Mayor Cllr Babalwa Lobishe. The full schedule of the week-long Love Your Street campaign in Gqeberha can be found on the GCIS socials
We invite you to join us in the Campaign to “Love Your Street” across every province by:
• Stopping littering
• Stopping illegal dumping
• Make public spaces feel safe especially for women and children.
Love Your Street campaign does not absolve municipalities of their responsibility to provide reliable refuse removal, tackling illegal dumping and cutting overgrown grass in our neighbourhoods and CBDs.
It is your partnership, so please join the movement - let’s love our streets. Loved streets are crime-free streets

We just received court papers from the Minister of Police with instructions that we must be interdicted from Marching and we must not be allowed to organise a March, picket, motorcade or stage any of them, on top of that we must not go to a Home Affairs Department! On Friday we are in Court and we ask all Patriots who can make it to please support us against the Minister of Police and the President, that are abusing power and using the courts to strip us of our democratic right to Protest 🙏🏻🇿🇦
An interesting debate between @ptcherneva, @jasonhickel and @saifedean on what money is and who controls it. @mopheme_Taoli
I think you'll enjoy this one.

Thick walls, spacious kitchen and the open plan lounge/dining area is big enough to actually have a lounge and dining area. Not to mention the big bedrooms with wall to wall wardrobes.
