The Otedo Youth Union (OYU) has called on Edo people to maintain peace and avoid actions that could deepen tensions or create divisions within the state amid reactions to the attack on MC Porkupyne.
In its public statement dated October 26, 2026, the union urged residents to put aside their political differences and other disagreements, warning against actions capable of creating further tension among the people.
“We encourage everyone to maintain peace and avoid actions capable of causing further tension or division within EDO people regardless of differences in politics and other aspects of life,” the statement read.
The union also condemned violence and intimidation, denied any involvement in the attack on MC Porkupyne, and called on the relevant authorities and security agencies to investigate the incident and ensure that anyone found responsible is brought to justice.
OYU further urged the public to avoid spreading misinformation or associating the union with the incident, while expressing its wishes for MC Porkupyne’s speedy recovery.
