A coach at one of Belgium’s top U16 teams counted 29 games in a season. I checked our calendar from my time coaching Valencia Basket U16: 69. Same age. Twice the experience. How much of “tournament mentality” is tournament experience? (1/2)

The word ‘elite’ is becoming so overused in sport. This drill is elite. This set is elite. This 10-year-old is elite. Sometimes a drill is just good, a set is effective, and a young player shows potential. When everything is elite, nothing is.

#fifa ffe or rather more like Ffs This is something that should cause concern … Sport at its centre is one of the last bastions of authenticity . You sell aspects to commercial/ investment partners and the sport itself will change. Why is an NFP ( not for profit ) organisation selling its revenues for upfront payments? This isn’t possibly just a Disneyfication of sport it’s potentially ripping the soul from it . Nuance and context is everything but the opacity of this organisation is troubling .
