Instead, sexual morality would be viewed through the lens of what was useful and beneficial to the volk. Hitler viewed marriage not as a holy union between people no matter if they were healthy or not, but as a institution that's purpose was to make as many healthy off-spring as possible. "We come to the topic of leadership problems. The gender issue is a great concern for the Führer, especially in the big cities. Where are young people supposed to go there? In the countryside, this resolves itself. Christianity has moralized all our erotic notions. Today, what passes for morality is mostly just hypocrisy. Eros, alongside hunger, is the most vital life force and demand. A primal drive that cannot be glossed over with a few platitudes. We must also consider this question entirely from the standpoint of the people's benefit. That is our morality. The Führer highly praises the Spartans' views, which were harsh, but honest and sound." [1] This then corresponds with Hitler's early works on foreign policy, noting that these primal instincts of Love and hunger (as Goebbels noted above) are the absolute rulers of life as species preservation prevails even in its expression of politics: "Politics is history in the making; history itself is the depiction of the course of a people's struggle for survival. I deliberately use the word "Lebenskampf" here because, in truth, every struggle for daily bread, whether in peace or war, is an eternal battle against countless obstacles, just as life itself is an eternal struggle against death. For why they live, humans know as little as any other creature on earth. Only life is filled with the longing to preserve it. The most primitive creature knows only the instinct for self-preservation; for more advanced beings, it extends to wife and child; for even more advanced beings, to the entire species. By seemingly renouncing their own instinct for self-preservation, not infrequently for the sake of the species, humans are in truth serving it most fully. For it is often in this renouncing that the granting of life to the whole, and thus also to the individual, lies. Hence the sudden courage of the mother in defending her young and the heroism of the man in protecting his people. The two most powerful drives of life—hunger and love—correspond to the magnitude of the drive for self-preservation. Just as the satiation of perpetual hunger ensures self-preservation, the satisfaction of love ensures continuation. In truth, these two drives are the rulers of life."
