UEFN Dev | Map Creator I’m always browsing for cool products to use in my maps — UI, Verse code, lighting systems, custom weapons, and more. If you build interesting tools or assets for UEFN, feel free to share them with me. I might not purchase everything, but I’m happy to retweet great work for others in the community who might find it useful. I’ve already bought a few products from creators I follow here on X, and I enjoy sharing cool things I discover. There are some awesome people building in this space, and I’m always glad to support and highlight their craft.

Here's a look at our Native Water Template with actual biome mask support to bring to life water variations on Aloha. This system is completely separated from epics default water system and supports rivers, lakes, etc. Notice how the rainforest has darker green water! You can find a link to download the system in the comments.

I’m convinced this was peak discovery. You had New and Updated + New and Top Rated, then if your map performed well you could climb through Gaining Traction → Trending → People Love → Homebar. Felt like there was a clear path to the top.
woke up to this first homebar, huge achievement🥰

Random drop in the middle of the night. Hide and Seek Universe is LIVE NOW! I combined some of my most popular maps and made a new one with a backrooms theme! There are some cool abilities to buy and A LOT of new hiding spots! More maps to come. 4051-1815-9473 #UEFN

Epic Games has suspended my secondary account for "1.15.1 Violence and bloodshed." THIS ITS ABSURD, I only create driving maps! What does this even mean? Is this a joke? I’ve sent a report to the support team; I hope they can see how ridiculous this reason for the violation is. There isn’t a single trace of blood in any of my maps. Wake up, Epic! #UEFN @TimSweeneyEpic @FNCreate

I’m this close to losing my mind trying to upload a new Fortnite map. I’ve spent the last 7 hours dealing with the buggiest client ever. I’ve had to restart UEFN at least 8 times just to launch a session. Then I ran into a bug where using a skybox triggered an experimental feature warning, which prevented me from uploading the game. And after all that, I get this? How is this even possible? @FNCreate

Using the sponsored row is like when Yellow Pages calls me (this is a real story) and asks if I want to advertise with them. I ask if they have analytics on where they serve up these ads and there's silence on the other end and then, "analytics of where and who? what's that?"
Unless you are in the top 5% of creators, Sponsored Row is a waste of time and money. It needs to be completely reworked

We've reached a point where either Epic starts listening to creators, or most creators will move to other platforms like Roblox, where discovery rows such as "New Trending" are extremely important. In the end, only the top 10–20 teams will remain, while all the other high-quality studios will have left, tired of the constant changes that keep favoring the same maps. Every change to Discover seems increasingly designed to benefit already established maps, while rows like "Updated," "Top Rated," "New Top Rated" ecc, have all been gradually removed over time. What's next? Are we going to remove the "New" row too?
Just to clear, 4 of the top 10 games today didn’t exist 6 months ago.

This isn't a personal attack. He's the spokesperson, our only insight into Epic's thinking. Seven months of feedback, countless complaints, and still no change. No matter the backlash, Epic keeps patting itself on the back. At what point does anyone at Epic start listening?
The Top 10 highlights the most popular games across the ecosystem. Many players who didn’t traditionally visit Discover are now doing so, and a Top 10 gives them a quick snapshot of what’s popular right now.

Is Fortnite Discover’s new system the end of the road for small creators? 🤔 I published my map, but it only got one round of exposure in New and Simulation. No second chance, no new wave of players. Previously, maps could receive multiple Discover pushes, with another bump usually coming after 4/7 days. The first wave of players is essential for testing a map, fixing bugs, and preparing for the next wave. Without that opportunity, how are small creators supposed to grow? #UEFN #FortniteCreative

I want to see where everyone started. 😂 What was the FIRST Fortnite map you ever built? Creative 1.0 or UEFN, doesn't matter. Bonus points if you still have a screenshot! 📸👇

GO GOATED — TheBoyDilly (#8 creator), established for 5+ years. MEGA RED VS BLUE — RVB (#7 creator), established for years. Murder Mystery — Good Gamers (#5 creator), established studio. The Pit — 6+ year-old hit, acquired by Gaijin. 1V1 WITH EVERY GUN — Hive (#2 creator), established studio. Fight The Brainrot — Viral brainrot trend. Star Wars Droid Tycoon — FOAD (#10 creator), Epic partnership + early IP access. PILLARS — Hive (#2 creator), months of paid Sponsored Row advertising (~$110K–$175K estimated in May–June alone). GO UP FOR BRAINROTS — Ferins (#3 creator), massive existing audience. Bed Wars — Good Gamers (#5 creator), established studio. I want to make it clear that these are genuinely great, well-made games. Many of these creators built their success entirely on their own, long before receiving any special support, and they absolutely deserve recognition for that. But my issue is with Discover itself. Roblox is constantly evolving. New trends, new games, and new creators regularly break through. Meanwhile, Fortnite’s top creators remain largely the same year after year. And when newer creators do break through, it often seems to involve significant promotion, established connections, or opportunities that aren’t equally accessible to everyone. Having 4 games released in the last 6 months isn’t the same as having 4 new creators break through. Discover doesn’t seem to give upcoming creators the same opportunities to become successful.

I have a challenge for @FNCreate… If you actually believe in your product and genuinely think Discover is working, prove it. Have Epic host an internal game jam where your own developers create UEFN experiences and release them just like the rest of us. No forced Epic promotion. No special placement. No Sponsored Discover. No preferential treatment. Just your games, competing organically in Discover alongside everyone else’s. Let’s see how well your own projects perform when they’re subjected to the exact same system you’ve been telling creators is working. If Discover truly rewards quality experiences, you should have nothing to worry about.

Discover is brutal at this moment. Love it in a design perspective, but as a UGC platform UI it does a bad job. It looks like Netflix, so it's good looking by default, but it requires players to scroll way too much, and we all know Fortnite players hate scrolling. The Hero Spot covers the whole screen, yet the maps featured there barely get any traffic because players don't scroll, and the auto-scroll waits for the whole trailer to finish playing. This is a huge deal beccause: There isn't a clear goal for us creators to aim for atm. Before this new design, Epic's Picks guaranteed homebar if you hit 1k CCU which was very doable, so that was a great motivation and a great goal. The Banner gave you millions of impressions for your events if you got accepted. Both of these are gone now, so we're left with Sponsored as the only way of getting players but it is way too expensive and is going to get even crazier as Christmas approaches. Credit to Epic for trying to improve the platform more and more each year, but I feel like they're over-complicating something that should be simple and has already worked fine before.
Here's a breakdown of the time and investment in Break and Steal Eggs, along with the additional investment we had planned before the game was removed from Discover tabs. - Sponsored row: $5,400 - Asset costs: $1,100 - Total spent: $6,500 - Time invested: 20 days of work (13 updates) Additional investment planned: $4,000 Throughout this period, we've done live events and boss fights, built an active community, and achieved strong metrics. We were committed to improving this game but discover completely kicked us out with no support. We also planned a streamer campaign to attract more players to our game and Fortnite. However, after the game was removed from Discover tabs, we decided to stop further investment and time. We are sharing our experience to show how challenging it has become to gain and maintain exposure in discover, even with consistent updates, investment, strong metrics, and an engaged community. We've concluded that it's more so of a luck based system rather than meeting expected metrics or we're not getting enough data. #UEFN

There’s no need to assess this over several months. In that time, you’re killing the careers of many talented creators. The Top 10 should rotate every 3–4 days.
