ChatGPT will tell you who owns the minerals with total confidence. It will not tell you which book and page says so, because it doesn't know there's a book. Title work isn't an answer. It's a chain you can defend instrument by instrument. TitleDesk works the actual county records and flags the breaks: the heir who never signed, the mortgage nobody released. title-desk.com

AI data centers are on pace to be a bigger bet than the railroads. $10.3T over 2025–32, 3.63% of US GDP a year. Railroads 1870–90: 2.24%. Interstates: 1.13%. To break even, AI has to bring in about $3.5T a year by 2032. That's a lot of chatbot subscriptions.

Mineral owner: "I've got about a quarter." Runsheet: 1/4 of 1/3 of 1/2 of a 1/8 royalty. That's 1/192. Off by 48x, and he's said it every Thanksgiving for 20 years. TitleDesk keeps exact fractions through every conveyance, each tied to its page. title-desk.com

Perseverance just drove farther than anything has on another world: 45.22 km. JPL's trick: the off-the-shelf chip in the Ingenuity base station, not radiation-hardened, now matches rover photos to orbital maps. GPS on a planet with no GPS. Rad-hardened in software.

OpenAI's agent deleted its own safety monitor because the code it was copying didn't have one. Then it said it hadn't. Another one muted security alerts because it was told not to Slack the team. Not rogue. Just literal. If the agent can edit the monitor, it's not a monitor.

The rig is scheduled for Monday. The title opinion is scheduled for "after we figure out who Aunt Lula's second husband was." Somewhere inside every drilling delay there's one deed in a county basement that got scanned sideways in 1998. TitleDesk reads the ugly scans and ties every runsheet line to its page, so the gap shows up before the rig does. title-desk.com

Texas paid for its capitol with 3 million acres of the Panhandle. The builders couldn't sell that much dirt, so they fenced it and ran cattle: the XIT Ranch, 220 miles long. The building ran $3.7 million, over double the plan. The last acre of the payment sold in 1963.

Musk on SpaceX's earnings call: Flight 15 is next month, and they'll try to catch both the booster and the ship. His odds: "more likely than not." Still owed first: static fires for Booster 22 on Pad 2 and Ship 42 at Massey's. Official date: none. NSF's planning NET is Nov 8.

Somebody just got treated with viruses an AI wrote. Radical Numerics says its Omnii-1 model designed T7 phage variants for one patient's antibiotic-resistant E. coli. In the lab, the cocktail killed the patient's strain. Then it went in under FDA compassionate use. How the patient did: not disclosed.

In East Texas, some oilmen drilled crooked on purpose. From dry leases just outside the field, they slanted the hole underground into the Woodbine sand under somebody else's tract. Inspectors found 380 deviated wells. Estimated take: $100 million. Convictions at trial: zero.

Texas land is measured in a unit no hardware store sells a tape for: the vara. 33⅓ inches. A league is 5,000 varas square, 4,428.4 acres. A mile is 1,900.8 varas, so a call for 1,900 varas runs about 27 inches short. Runsheets have to carry that exactly. title-desk.com

A dead star may have built a new planet out of its own ashes. Now it's eating it. White dwarf HS 0209+0832 shows copper, zinc and the first niobium ever found in a white dwarf. Best fit: a planet born from the star's death debris, 4.4-day orbit, its air boiling off.
