Dear Hon. @samgeorgegh, Your passion is noted. However, respectfully, let’s stick to the facts. The High Street Journal never claimed the GDAP was permanently suspended or funding withdrawn. What was reported is that both GDAP and TCDP have been put on hold pending concerns over staffing changes as reflected in official World Bank communications. The letter dated March 12, 2025 from the World Bank to the Minister of Agriculture, available to the public, clearly outlines that the removal of key staff like Dr. Forster Boateng was not done in line with the Financing Agreement. This is not an opinion. It is a documented fact. [Attached] The World Bank warns that such disruptions could slow disbursement and implementation, and it requests immediate attention to the matter. That is not fake news. That is accountability in motion. Disagreeing with journalism is your right. Labeling uncomfortable truth as “barefaced lies” may win political points, but it does little to foster transparency. We welcome further clarification from the Ministry or the World Bank itself. But facts, not insults, should lead our national conversation. #FactMatters #Transparency #Ghana
Replying to @TheHighStreetJ
@TheHighStreetJ 1. "Two major World Bank-funded projects, a $200 million Tree Crops Diversification Project and another $200 million Ghana Digital Acceleration Project (GDAP), have been suspended following the dismissal of key personnel by the new government. The terminations, carried out without adherence to World Bank protocols, have raised concerns about the future of these initiatives." 2. The above is a direct quote from your disgraceful attempt at journalism. 3. The GDAP program has NOT been suspended by the @WorldBank as you have erroneously claimed. 4. The terminations were done according to WB protocols, contrary to your barefaced lie. 5. The WB has approved the recruitment of new staff and we have advertised same in the national dailies since last week Monday. 6. We have full access to the funds allocated to the GDAP project and continue to process payments through the PIU. 6. This yellow faced journalism is despicable, disgusting and abhorrent to put it lightly. 7. The MoCDTI under my watch would not allow journalistic gangsterism to thrive. I have called you out as bare faced liars. And that's who you are. Bow your heads in shame. 🦁🇬🇭
