YES. I get refused bets all the time for reasons you wouldn't believe.

I get made to wait 30 minutes in shops (Ladbroke Grove). U KNOW WHO YOU ARE... So their traders can annoy me and screw my prices before laying them.
(applies to other firms as well) who are even worse and don't lay a bean.
Most staff have zero understanding of horse markets or betting in general and are too lazy to call up bets or PTL them or even in a lot of cases know who to phone.
I've actually been asked to leave a shop cause the tomato behind the counter said "fssk now I have to make a phone call".
The word "customer service" is non-existent in betting shops.
Most shops what £2 punters drip feeding them all day or the FOBT addicts who fund the industry.
There are, of course, a few shops that employ staff who are coherent at their job. Dealing with someone who's educated in sports betting is always nice and pleasurable.
My experiences from betting in London shops have been nothing but disgusting, and mainly a waste of my time.
Starsports are world-class and the one Jennings Bet I've been to employ staff who do a good job.
