⭐ STAGEY SHOW DAY - SWEENEY TODD - THE DEMON BARBER OF FLEET STREET - LSMT - BRIDEWELL THEATRE ⭐ WELL THAT WAS BLOODY EXCELLENT! ! ! 🩸 I managed to snag a last minute ticket to one of the sold-out performances of @TheLSMT production of Sweeney Todd, at the @BridewellCentre ✨ I got to see the phenomenal Steak Cast which was led by the incredible Finn Tickel as Sweeney Todd. Not only did he sound amazing, his portrayal had a perfect balance of menace, comedy and tragedy. He was equally matched by the pitch perfect (and future scream queen) Emma Bate as Mrs Lovett. A devilishly funny performance, that looked effortless 🌟 This production featured such a strong cast but standouts included the exceptional Karcsi Wright as Judge Turpin, who was actually terrifying and quite rightly made my skin crawl at times 😬 Also Caoimhe De Brun as the anguished Beggar Woman, Kyanna Cronshaw with an amusing turn as a gender-swapped Pirelli and finally, Sam Trotman, who really sold the horror and tragic descent into madness, as poor Tobias 🌟 Tautly directed by Graham Hubbard, this production got my adrenaline pumping, especially the final scenes, which were SO INTENSE 😱 I had to have a couple minutes after the show ended to collect myself lol 🫢 This was such an interesting production, design-wise, featuring a slight modern twist to the proceedings, with some bold choices made by set & costume designer Bob Sterrett and lighting designer Ric Mountjoy 🩸 The show also sounded fantastic, with the band led by Huw Evans, and big vocals from the ensemble, during the big choral moments 🎤 Honestly, this is probably my favourite production of Sweeney Todd that I've seen so far. Bravo to all involved, I can't wait to see what you all get up to next 👏👏👏 X x x
