What do you do if patients come off medications on their own & bring this up in session? I always ask patients about medication consistency. When we know the why, w/o judgement, in a clinician patient relationship with the care team, we can make strides towards better care. 🩺
How can we safely help patients come off of their medications? The key is to do this with the advisement & support of one's team. Medication may be used for certain times of life or forever. This is always an individualized approach. 💭 #medication #careteam #support
What do you do for self care? Taking walks after work helps me transition my mind from patient care to personal time. Sunsets are particularly special to me and this video is from a place I love. Spending time recharging, enables me to help others - not leaving myself behind. 🌅
What are the side effects in the SNRI class? Typically these range on the GI system and fatigue, less side effects related to weight gain & less sexual side effects in general. Remember, meds do 20%. We do the rest of the work with support, doing our best in every moment. 🤝🏼
When treating #depression and #anxiety using the #SNRI class, I typically go to one of three #medications.
#Staytuned tomorrow for a #review of side effects and #specifics to look out for with the SNRI class. 📝
Most of the time we trial the #SSRI class using 2-3 of these #medications before going to this second class of #antidepressants / #antianxiety medications - the SNRI's. For now, stay tuned next week for our two part #videoseries as we delve further into the #SNRI class.💜
What is the next class of medications we use to treat depression and anxiety after trials of SSRI's?
SNRI's are a widely studied group of medications. They're a successful treatment option for a large percentage of folks with eating disorders targeting depression and anxiety.
What has tested your patience levels? What make you feel grateful? I had a break in daily walks bc of my ACL, MCL tears, & ACL surgery in the spring. Having to suspend much of my physical activity tested my patience, but I’m starting to feel stronger than I did pre injury.

Food trends don't cease to amaze me. It's exciting to see interest in a food that's been around forever - one that's versatile & high in protein ~ #cottagecheese 🧀 But is it magical? Nope. High fives to the dairy industry because they're getting their cows milk groove back. 🐮🥛

A piece that stood out to me this week is the op-ed from the @NYTs sharing @HumanRightsCampaign declaring a state of emergency for LGBTQ+ people in the United States. We know rights today do not mean rights tomorrow. Here in solidarity. 🤝🏼 #PrideMonth
