It’s irresponsible to run for mayor without telling residents how much you plan to raise their taxes. I've committed to keeping property taxes between 2 and 2.5% for the next two years. I delivered on affordability over the last four years, and I’ll do it again. Jeff, what’s your number?

You deserve a mayor with a real plan to make life more affordable, strengthen Ottawa’s economy and build the infrastructure our growing city needs. I have a plan to keep taxes low, support local businesses, improve our roads and transit, and invest in the services and infrastructure residents rely on every day.

Thank you to LiUNA Local 527 for endorsing my campaign for Mayor. The people who build our city deserve fair wages and the opportunity to build their careers here. That's why I'm committed to ensuring skilled trades workers are paid fairly and creating more opportunities for local workers and apprentices. My $10-billion infrastructure plan will mean more work for construction tradespeople in the years ahead as we invest in roads, transit and the infrastructure Ottawa needs. Let's keep building Ottawa together!

Big endorsement from those who build in #ottcity to re-elect @_MarkSutcliffe. Also follows news that housing starts - down everywhere in Canada - are up in Ottawa. #ottpoli

Mark Sutcliffe might now be the most YIMBY mayor in Canada After three years of giving him grief, he and his team did a complete 180 on housing. They've made tremendous progress in the past year. I am excited to see what a second term brings if he is re-elected next week.
Ottawa’s housing starts are up 14% so far in 2026 compared to the same period last year, building on a 38% increase in 2025. We’re making real progress at a time when housing starts are down 5% across Ontario and 4% nationally. The city has approved 75,000 homes in the past 4 years, and I’ll advance another 75,000 before 2030. We’re approving homes faster and creating more opportunities to build in Ottawa. Let’s keep moving forward on housing, together. marksutcliffe.ca/priorities/…

Canada is flirting with Europe. Can our small businesses actually afford the relationship? 500 exporters ship 77.7% of Canada’s goods exports. If only they make the move, how much more resilient are we really? My piece in @IRPP's Policy Options: policyoptions.irpp.org/issue…

When you run for Mayor, you have to tell residents everything you plan to do once you’re in office. While other candidates are keeping some of their plans a secret, today I released my full platform for Ottawa’s future.  It’s an ambitious, balanced and achievable plan to keep our city affordable, strengthen our economy and build on the progress we’ve made over the past four years.  I want to leave behind a better city for our kids and grandkids than the one we inherited. That means making the right decisions today to keep Ottawa strong, affordable and full of opportunity for generations to come. I believe deeply that Ottawa’s best days are still ahead. I’m asking for your support to keep building that future together. marksutcliffe.ca/plan

In today's CTV debate, Jeff Leiper had another opportunity to come clean with you on how much he plans to increase your taxes. Instead, he continues to keep his planned tax hikes a secret. Jeff has been a councillor for 12 years and a candidate for mayor for 15 months, so he knows how the budget works. Yet through 10 debates and counting, he's refused to be honest and transparent about his tax plans. Jeff, what's your number?

In today’s CTV debate, Neil Saravanamuttoo defended his plan to spend $250 million on bike lanes, claiming it would cost “absolutely nothing.” But taxpayers would be footing the entire bill. Ottawa residents deserve to know how candidates plan to spend their money. Neil, what other costly commitments are you keeping from voters?

Neil is in second place. Voters deserve to know that he’s admitted to being the architect of the $250m bike lane scheme and he’s advocated for shutting down major roads in Ottawa. He won’t tell you how much he’ll raise your taxes or how many roads he’ll close.

Cost of living is too high for residents of Ottawa. We need a mayor like @_MarkSutcliffe who can help with cost of living, while making city services within reasonable costs.
Ottawa families are managing their costs carefully. They deserve to know there’s someone working hard to keep their property taxes low. I’m the only mayoral candidate committing to a clear limit: 2% to 2.5% for the next two years. It’s a balanced, predictable approach that keeps life affordable while protecting the services residents rely on.
