Samsung, take notes from Apple on how to provide detailed bug fixes in OTA updates. 👀
🚨 iOS 27.0.1 Changelog
• Fixes unexpected restarts on iPhone 18 Pro models when Face ID fails to authenticate.
• Fixes a camera color artifact affecting 2x photos under certain lighting conditions on some iPhone 18 Pro models.
• Fixes an issue where opening Notification Center and Control Center simultaneously could make the touchscreen unresponsive.
This is the kind of transparency we want in every One UI update!

I ran a dark gray gradient banding test comparing the Galaxy S26 Ultra vs Galaxy S25 Ultra using the same image, brightness level, and identical display settings.
📱 Top phone: S26 Ultra
📱 Bottom phone: S25 Ultra
All display parameters were kept exactly the same.
Result:
The S26 Ultra shows noticeably less banding, with smoother transitions in dark gray gradients. Pay close attention to where arrows are pointing and compare.
Samsung has confirmed the S26 Ultra panel is 8-bit, but improved processing (possibly dithering / FRC) appears to reduce visible banding compared to the S25 Ultra.
⚠️ This isn’t a full lab test, but the method is scientific enough to visually demonstrate the difference.
✅ Bottom line: The S26 Ultra still has the superior display.
Samsung's claim of reduced banding and gradients can be confirmed using this simple test.

Samsung is stepping up the design game with One UI 8.5 (YJ1). The new 3D gradient icons bring a fresh, modern look that adds depth and personality to the interface. A small change, but it really makes the whole UI feel more premium.

Samsung's One UI 8 for the Galaxy S25 Ultra has added a new feature—the adaptive lock screen clock. The principle is that when an object's outline is detected, the clock automatically extends or contracts to adapt to the shape. Actually, Samsung could have easily achieved a depth effect without the need for this elastic adjustment. But now you know why they didn’t—because this trend was pioneered by Apple. Samsung wants to create its own distinctive feature. While everyone else follows Apple’s lead with depth-effect clocks, Samsung opts for a transforming clock, deliberately choosing to stand out.
